Is Gaining The World And Losing Your Soul Worth It?

What shall it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your soul? Every action, thought or word of yours determines the line you are towing. And your time on earth is too short to make wrong choices. This post encourages you to focus on gaining your soul.

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? - Matthew 16:26 (NKJV).

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” - John 11:25 (NKJV).

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment - Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV).

Your soul is more important than the gains of this world and so needs adequate attention. This is because it lives on even after death (John 11:25). It spends eternity either with God (which is God's will) or with the devil. And you ultimately decide where it goes by the things you do here on earth.

The Dilemma

Many people live in this world as if their lives end here. So, they chase after money by all means and fight with all they have for power. They do this even to the point of stealing, killing or destroying others just like the devil whose mission is to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). Unfortunately, these acts are outright consent to spend eternity with the devil.

God's Will

It is not the will of God that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9) but that all should have eternal life. This He showed by giving His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). And Christ has paid the entire price that you may spend eternity with God. Read more...

The Truth-Wisdom Is Profitable To Direct Now

What success tools are you using for this year? One major tool you should not overlook is wisdom. This is because the world was established by wisdom (Jeremiah 10:12), so, for you to effectively work in and succeed in this world, you need wisdom. This post explains more on this wisdom, which is profitable to direct you.

If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct – Ecclesiastes 10:10 (KJV).

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold. It is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. It is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her – Proverbs 3:13-18 (NKJV).

Many people start doing things without considering whether they are wise things to do or if they are actually doing that thing wisely. This causes them to end up with negative results. However, there is always a wise way of doing a thing, and your discovery of it is what guarantees your success in life. Also, know that problems are halfway solved when you have the wisdom for it. So, wisdom is the principal thing (Proverbs 4:7), and is more important than any precious stone or anything else you may desire (Proverbs 3:14-15). This is because it will give you these things you desire and much more. Wisdom delivers efficiently and effectively.

What is wisdom?

Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge acquired. Also, it is to know what right thing to do and doing it. So, it is the difference between success and failure, health and sickness, riches and poverty, faith and fear, and so on. Furthermore, according to James 3:15-17, there are 2 categories of wisdom: one that is earthly, sensual, and demonic, and one that is from above or heavenly.

The wisdom of God

This is the wisdom that is from above; that is, from God. Furthermore, it is different from the other category in that it is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy; while the other category is where envy and self-seeking exit, as such confusion and every evil thing are there. Therefore, wisdom of God is what brings success and directs you profitably. Read more...

Understanding The Wisdom Of Joy

Are you always joyful or is your joy determined by your mood or what you possess per time? Joy is an important virtue every Christian should have if you want to be on top of all circumstances and enjoy the blessings of the Lord. This post aims to give you better understanding of the wisdom that lies in acquiring and maintaining your joy.

Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation – Isaiah 12:3 (NKJV).

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! – Philippians 4:4 (NKJV).

Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls—yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation – Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NKJV).

Many people have reasons to give for not being joyful and they are ever eager to tell them to you. The enemy has so bombarded people with challenges and in the process succeeded in stealing their joy, which is a vital weapon in overcoming the enemy and his attacks. If devil can’t steal your joy, he can’t continue to keep what belongs to you.

When the enemy first attacks you, his major target is your joy. Once he takes your joy then he has power to keep stealing from you. However, if you refuse to let go of your joy he would be forced to restore whatever he had earlier taken from you. Therefore, it is great wisdom to guard your joy at all times. Choose to retain your joy no matter the circumstances around you. Put action to your joy by rejoicing evermore. Rejoice in the Lord always.

Reasons To Guard Your Joy

1. Joy is the bucket you use to draw water out of the well of salvation (Isaiah 12:3).

When your joy is in-tact it becomes easy for you to locate your escape route from any oppression of the devil, no matter how hidden it may be. Without joy you will be so engulfed in that challenge that you won’t be able to see the helps God had stationed around you or be able to reach out to God to save you. Read more...

Wisdom For Overcoming Temptation

Do you find yourself doing things you desire not to be doing? Do you fall into temptations? Good news, there is wisdom for overcoming temptation! This post explains how you can overcome temptations and do the right things at the right times.

Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak – Matthew 26:41 (NKJV).

That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man – Ephesians 3:16 (NKJV).

Living ‘The Faith’ should not be a struggle for Christian believers. However, many Christians say it’s difficult to live as Christians on earth and so are always in despair each time they fall into sin or temptation. They truly desire to always do the right thing, but their flesh will always compel them to do the wrong thing. The temptation to say, think or do the wrong things will surely come, but you don’t have to enter into it. God has made provisions for you not to fall into temptation. It’s left for you to take hold of the wisdom given and access these provisions.

Jesus and Peter
In Matthew 26:31-46, 69-75, Peter was too confident that he would not stumble because of Christ; even when Jesus told him that he would deny Him thrice, he still declared that though others deny Christ that he wouldn’t do so. However, when it was time to back up his bold declarations with prayers, sleep didn’t allow him to pray. The temptation to deny Christ came and Peter succumbed to it woefully. Peter’s spirit was willing but his flesh was weak. Read more...

Times Of Silence - Wisdom For Fewer Faults In Life

Do you always say everything you want to say? Sometimes, things are better left unspoken. These unspoken words may determine the state of relationships, the feelings or health of others, and your position between sin and righteousness, if spoken. This post stresses that it is wisdom to observe times of silence.

“In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise - Proverbs 10:19 (NKJV).

This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” - John 8:6-7 (NKJV).

Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.” And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing. But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly - Matthew 27:11-12, 14 (NKJV).

There is time for everything, including time to speak and time to be quiet. Many times people think that it is okay to say everything the way it is in their heart. Some people think that they must win an argument and so they keep talking, justifying their points and themselves. Some others just like talking and talking. However, just as the scripture says in Proverbs 10:19, in the multitude of words sin is not lacking. Anyone who is able to restrain his or her lips is wise. Observing times of silence will help one to speak fewer words. The person will be able to control his words by first checking the words in his heart, and then choosing the ones to say and the ones to leave unsaid. Read more...

The Master's Wisdom Walk On Earth

Who doesn't need wisdom? Wisdom is the principal thing and having her gives you the greatest asset ever. Everyone needs her to successfully live on earth and afterwards have eternal life in heaven. Jesus needed wisdom to walk successfully on earth and to fulfil His destiny. This post considers the Master's wisdom walk while on earth.

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men - Luke 2:40, 52 (NKJV).

And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! - Mark 6:2 (NKJV).

Wisdom is an important key to victorious living and the Lord had to embrace her too. Jesus Christ came into this world as a baby and grew like a normal child. One of the major virtues He had to acquire as He grew was wisdom. He was first filled with wisdom, but He didn't stop there, He had to increase in wisdom as He grew. He knew that wisdom was a virtue He must build on consistently for Him to fulfil His purpose on earth.

Let's consider some of the Master's wisdom walk while on earth

Relationship with parents
Jesus knew who He was as a child but wisdom taught Him to obey His parents, following their instructions. When He was twelve He stayed back at Jerusalem after the feast to be about His Father's business, however, when His parents found Him, He returned with them and was subject to them without any challenge (Luke 2:49-51). Where Will Wisdom Be Found?

Where can you find wisdom for living? If wisdom is crucial for living on earth, then it is a virtue you must search for and possess. Interestingly, it seems not to be easily accessible, otherwise many people will possess it. This post aims to direct you to the right source and access to wisdom.

But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man does not know its value, nor is it found in the land of the living. The deep says, ‘It is not in me’; and the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’ It cannot be purchased for gold, nor can silver be weighed for its price. Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a report about it with our ears.’ God understands its way, and He knows its place – Job 28:12-15, 22-23 (NKJV).

Wisdom is fifty percent of the solution to people’s challenges, therefore, discovering the wisdom needed for a challenge is to have the first half of that challenge solved. Unfortunately, many people don’t know or understand this and so are endlessly struggling to solve their problems without making any headway. Some people know this but are looking for wisdom in the wrong places and so are also stuck with their problems.

Everything of value has a place to find it; so does wisdom. If you don’t know where to find it, you may end up with the fake version of it, like demonic wisdom. The book of Job 28:12-24 has things to say about the source of wisdom:

1. Man does not know the price of it.
The value of wisdom is beyond man’s imagination and so he can’t put a price tag on it or bargain for it.

2. It is not found in the land of the living.
It’s not earthly and so can’t be found on earth. Read more...

What Is Wisdom To You?

What is wisdom to you? Do you walk in it? An understanding of the meaning of a thing makes it possible for you to assess your usage and development of it. Wisdom is the principal thing in life and so should be consciously acquired and used. This post explains what wisdom is.

And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding - Job 28:28 (NKJV).

Wisdom is the solution to your challenge, but if you don't know what wisdom is how will you identify one when you see or hear it? Therefore, it is important to know what it is.

What Is Wisdom?

According to Cambridge dictionary, it is the ability to use your knowledge and experience to make good decisions and judgments. As such, it is the correct application of knowledge and experience acquired.

Dr David Oyedepo defines it as, "knowing what to do and doing it, knowing what to say and saying it, and knowing where to go and going there."
Therefore, it is not enough to know what to say or do, or where to go, it is important that you say or do it, or go there otherwise it is not wisdom. You must apply the knowledge for it to be wisdom.

Furthermore, the fear of the Lord is wisdom (Job 28:28). Having the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). This is where to start if you want to build up this virtue in you. The application of wisdom is here on earth and God is the creator of the earth. No action contrary to His principles will be regarded as wisdom by Him.

In addition, wisdom is the act of obeying God (Matthew 7:24). Hearing and doing the words of the Lord makes you a wise man. This likens you to a wise man who built his house on a rock and when challenges of all kinds came, the house remained standing because it was founded on a rock (Matthew 7:25). Wisdom is to know what God says concerning an issue and doing it.

Types of wisdom
There are all kinds of knowledge available leading to different kinds of wisdom. The root or source of the knowledge determines the type of wisdom that will be manifested. According to James 3:15-18, there are four types of wisdom: Read more...

Wisdom For Living

Do you have wisdom? Wisdom is the key to successful living on earth. Lack of it is to be groping in the dark and be surrounded by great woes, wailing and destruction. Wisdom makes the difference between success and failure, life and death, poverty and prosperity, health and sickness. Possession of wisdom is to possess life.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom and in all your getting, get understanding – Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV).

“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion…I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. Riches and honor are with me, enduring riches and righteousness…The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old…Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him…Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord – Proverbs 8:12, 17-18, 22, 30, 34-35 (NKJV).

The Lord founded the earth by wisdom (Proverbs 3:19) and so man needs wisdom to be able to occupy her successfully. Wisdom is the principal thing to possess in order to enjoy living on earth. Every challenge in life is basically a wisdom problem and to have wisdom for any challenge is to have 50% of it solved.

Wisdom was God’s master craftsman in creation. He utilized wisdom to successfully create all we see, use and enjoy. With wisdom you have prudence, knowledge and discretion; a complete package that will help you not to stumble or make mistakes in your words and action.

The choices you make are measures of the wisdom available to you. The more the wisdom you acquire the better your choices and the outcomes you get. It is your responsibility to go for wisdom in all areas of your life. You need wisdom to live a victorious Christian life and also to live every phase of your life very well and remarkably: as a child, student, worker, spouse, parent, friend, leader, neighbour, colleague, group member, boss, employee and client. The list can go on and on. Your level of wisdom will affect your relationship with others and so is important that you possess it. Read more...

Benefits Of Partnership With God

What will you gain partnering with God? It is great wisdom to partner with God. Everyone with the goal for a prize from God commits God with partnership in His kingdom work. Wonders never end when we are in partnership with God, you enjoy fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore in the Lord's presence. This post gives the benefits of working with God.

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him - John 14:21 (NKJV)

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore - Psalms 16:11 (NKJV).

So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one - Ezekiel 22:30 (NKJV)

God has work to be done on earth and is looking for who to partner with Him to get the work done, and has promised to bless such a one with great blessings ( Exodus 23:25-26). The instructions the Lord wants you to carry out are all written in His word, they are the commandments that if you love Him you will keep; then, God will manifest Himself to you for carrying out His instructions.

Your love for souls of men and you loving what He loves proves that you love Him, which will provoke His manifestations in your life. These manifestations of God are the benefits you enjoy for partnering with The Lord.

The Benefits

1. It empowers a Christian believer to be more than a conqueror.
When you love God by keeping His commandments, you will be loved by Him, and He will cause you to be more than conquerors through Him who loves you (Romans 8:37). Troubles will tremble at your presence when His presence is with you. Read more...

Wisdom to Stop Labouring in Vain

Are you building in vain? Are you putting much effort and seeing little or no result? This is not God’s plan for you, His plan is that you prosper in the works of your hands (Deuteronomy 28:8). This post gives the wisdom to apply to stop laboring in vain.

Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain – Psalms 127:1 (NKJV).

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV).

Many Christians are putting in much energy, time and money to their endeavor, only to reap below their expectation. This leads to frustration in life. However, there are some Christians who put in less energy, time and money and yet reap beyond their imagination. The difference is the personality that is the main builder.

The scriptures in Psalm 127:1 says that except the Lord builds a house, those working on it will only labour in vain; and if the Lord does not watch over a city, the watchman will only be awake in vain. It is therefore wisdom to make the Lord the main builder.

Let God be the builder and you the labourer. God is the Alpha and the Omega (Revelations 1:8), the only wise God (1 Timothy 1:17) and the creator of the whole universe (Genesis 1:1); therefore, He is the best personality to be at the head of your affairs. It is wisdom to allow God to pave the way, set the pace and direct you in your endeavor. God can never make mistakes and no force can stand or stop Him; also, nothing is difficult for Him (Jeremiah 32:27). So, your duty is to follow Him and work as instructed by Him. Read more...

Main Secret On How To Save Marriage And Have Joy And Peace

How to save marriage has become a serious issue with couples today. In recent times, the rate of marriage failure has greatly increased. Many factors are attributed for this failure and many solutions are being offered but the main secret on how to save marriage is being ignored. The main secret is ones walk with God, the institutor of Marriage.
God initiated marriage in the first place with Adam and Eve and laid down rules and regulations on how to have joy and peace in your marriage. These rules and regulations are what couples find difficult to obey. I would not blame them because it is difficult to do so with the trend of the world, where some people are fighting for women liberation and the economy is forcing people to focus more on their career than their marriages and family.
However, how to save marriage is purely on God’s principles and for you to follow them you need to retrace your steps back to God. Your walk with God will reveal to you the areas of your marriage you need to address and God will give you the wisdom on how to address them.
Many times couples tend to blame one another for the problems they are facing but never considering that they may be the main cause of the problem. When you walk with God, He will always point out to you where you are going wrong and what to do to correct it. He speaks to us through our conscience and His word (the bible)
Some of the issues that cause problems in homes include lack of attention, communication breakdown, financial problems, pride etc. These are largely wisdom problems and can be dealt with when you apply the wisdom from God’s word. God’s wisdom is higher than man’s wisdom. Man’s wisdom is selfish but God’s wisdom is full of love.
It takes two people to fight. When you are walking with God, He will go ahead and touch your spouse and enable him or her to change his or her attitudes towards you and the problem. If the problem lingers, you will still have peace because you know that God is working it out for you. And with your prayers in line with God’s word, mixed with faith, you will surely save your marriage.
It is therefore very important that you get to know more about God, His principles for a successful marriage and obey them. God has designed marriage for you to enjoy and if yours is about to crash, He also has given us how to save marriage in His word. You are not to have anything short of joy and peace in your marriage, so take the step towards saving your marriage today.

How did your walk with God save your marriage? Please share your experience with other readers.
