5 Benefits of church going for family life (Part 2)

In my last post I gave the first 5 benefits of Church going for family life. Today, I want to share the last 5 benefits. Family is the bed rock of the church. Should the family be unstable, the church will certainly be affected. So, church activities are programmed among other things, to build a stable family life for members.

Here are the other benefits

1. Avoidance of trouble

Church going has been a great blessing to my family. We have kept away from troubles because we chose to be in church when there was service in church.  The people who would have put us into trouble did not find us available for outings that would have ruined our family life.

2. Choice of company

Going to church enables you to choose the right company to keep. Children make friends with people that love God and will never lead them astray. Children who go to church and participate fully with their hearts tend to overcome peer pressure more.

3. Choice of spouse

When you go to church, you have the opportunity to meet and marry a God fearing person. The marriage foundation will be solid because both of you are on the same spiritual platform which is needed for a successful family life. Read more...

Post Resurrection Blessings And Authority Of Lord Jesus Christ

What do you stand to gain from the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ? Truly, the purpose of Christ's coming to earth is what we will gain after His resurrection, which is the salvation of our souls. However, we also have post resurrection blessings and the authority of Lord Jesus Christ available to us.

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen - Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV).

Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me - Luke 24:44 (NKJV).

To whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God - Acts 1:3 (NKJV).

Introduction

Our Lord Jesus Christ went as were prophesied by the prophets. And all things were fulfilled as said concerning Him. Also, He suffered as said and now He has entered into His glory (Luke 24:26). These show that Jesus is really the Christ and the son of God (John 20:31). And that any other thing yet to be fulfilled concerning Him will surely come to pass too.

Now, after the resurrection, Jesus showed Himself and communed with the disciples many days before ascending into heaven. And during this period He taught and gave them instructions, which are relevant to us also.

Post Resurrection Blessings And Authority Of Lord Jesus Christ

1. Those who tarry longer see Jesus

When Peter, John, and Mary Magdalene went to the tomb of Christ, only Mary got to see Jesus there. This is because she waited longer than the other two people. And she ended up being the first to see Jesus after the resurrection. Therefore, the longer you tarry in God's presence, in the word and prayer, the more you encounter the Son. Discovering What Wisdom Has To Offer

What has wisdom got to offer you? Wisdom is a great virtue that anyone living on earth should possess to enjoy his or her time here. God founded the earth by wisdom and so having it is a sure foundation for you, so that you won’t stumble. She should be your number one possession for a glorious life on earth. This post gives you what you will gain for having wisdom.

Happy is the man who finds wisdom,...Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her...and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid...The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools - Proverbs 3:13, 16-18, 22-24, 35 (NKJV).

Wisdom is of great value. Her proceeds far outweigh the profits you will get from beautiful and expensive gems like gold, diamond and rubies. There is nothing you desire that can be compared to her. Life with wisdom is a life that is complete. Jesus grew in wisdom and this greatly manifested in His life in the works that He did. So, let's look at what wisdom has to offer.

Benefits of wisdom

Wisdom promises to give you long life. Walking in wisdom keeps you from doing things that will jeopardize your life. She keeps you healthy and sound. She orders your footsteps aright and ensures that you don't fall into the traps of the enemy.

2. Riches
Wealth accompanies those who walk in wisdom. When you follow the instructions of God concerning money, riches will follow you. So don't run after riches, run after wisdom and riches will run after you.

3. Honour
This means high respect or great esteem. Walking in wisdom confers these on you. You don't demand for respect but you earn it as you walk in wisdom. Having her commands respect from people and they will hold you in high esteem.

4. Pleasantness
The ways of wisdom are ways of pleasantness.  She makes you socially accepted and your ways pleasing, enjoyable and agreeable to people. She gives you pleasure. Read more...

8 Benefits Of The Peace Of God

What can the peace of God do for you? Human beings always want to know what is in a thing for them; what will be their benefits or profits before they agree on or do anything. If I go for this peace you are talking about, will it solve all my problems? Which problems will it solve? This article lists seven benefits of this peace plus 1 more.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid - John 14:27 (KJV)

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:7 (KJV)

The Benefits of the God-kind of peace

1.       Good health - Many people are sick, some are hospitalized because they lacked peace of mind. This peace will give you a rested soul and body. It will keep away worries, stress, depression, high blood pressure and heart related diseases. This reminds me of my mother who thought it was her duty to worry over things. Unfortunately, she developed high blood pressure and died earlier than she should. We really miss her.

2.       Positive mindset – People who enjoy peace are positive minded. They expect the best of thimngs.  They think positively of people and situations. They don’t get worked up, thinking that things will certainly go wrong.

3.       Hope – The peaceful are hopeful and the hopeful are peaceful. When you are hopeless, you will become helpless. The peace of God is a powerful ingredient in building up your hope. You will know

that everything will work out for your good and you will expect it to be so. Read more...

The Wisest Decision To Implement This Year.

What decisions have you made for this year? Which ones must you implement? What you will encounter tomorrow is a result of the decisions you make and implement today. Every wise step gives rise to joy in future and foolish step breeds regrets. This post tells you one major decision you need to make and implement this year if you are to enjoy this year and experience success and glory.

That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:3-7, NKJV)

What can that decision be you may ask?
It is to deepen your fellowship with God at the early days of this year. How deep you go will determine the victories you enjoy for the rest of the year. You don’t know your tomorrow outside what the word of God says, but God does, for He is the Alpha and the Omega; the beginning and the ending. He has the secret and wisdom for your righteousness, success, peace and joy. You will only have access to them if you will allow Him to reveal them to you, and the channel is through fellowship.

How do you know you are truly fellowshipping with God?
You will walk in the light and not in darkness, and you will fellowship with brethren (1 John 1:3-7). This means to live according to the word of God, obeying his every instruction.

God is not selfish
God has not asked you to seek Him in vain (Isaiah 45:19). He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). When you seek Him with your heart, God says you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). And then, God in Proverbs 8:17, King James Version, says that those who seek Him early shall find Him.
That’s why you should seek Him at the beginning of this year so that you wouldn’t go through this year alone. Now, what will you gain fellowshipping with God? Here you are:

Benefits of fellowshipping with God
  • To plead your case (Isaiah 41:21)
When you get into God’s presence through praise, you have the opportunity to plead your case according to God’s word. You reason with God (Isaiah 1:8), bringing your strong reasons (Isaiah 41:21) and like Lot (Genesis 19:18-22) and Abraham (Genesis 18:1-33) get God to meet you at least half way if not all the way.

The Missing Link to Our Peace and Joy

Are you having a challenge maintaining peace and joy within and around you? Have you been searching for peace? Maybe it is because you are looking for peace and joy in the wrong place! One sure place to secure peace and joy is in your fellowship with God. Everlasting peace can only be found with the prince of Peace (Jesus Christ)

Many people think that money can give them peace and joy. Some think that power will do so, while some think that getting married is the answer. Yet others think that success in their career or business will certainly make their lives peaceful and joyful. The list can go on and on. But many people have discovered that having all these still won’t give them what they deeply desire: peace that passes all understanding and Christian joy full of glory.

“And he said unto them, take heed and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things he possesseth” - Luke 12:15 (KJV, emphasis mine).

What you possess may give you temporary peace or joy, but to enjoy ceaseless flow of these two you need to get to the source, which is God. And fellowship with God will deliver them into your life

Now, I know you are wondering how you are to fellowship with God. It is so simple that many people don’t pay attention to it. To fellowship with God is to spend time in His word and prayer. You may say you are too busy to do so, but the truth is that you can always make out time for anything, including bible study and prayer. Which one is better, to build a strong relationship with God when there is no crisis or to seek Him during crisis? I certainly will choose the first option. Read  more...

Recommended Biblical Greetings

Checking through the New Testament, I discovered that there were two major prayer greetings that the disciples always used amongst themselves. These are greetings of peace and grace.
The scriptures say that we will have what we say, and that life and death lie on our tongues

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. (Mark 11:23 NKJV)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21 NKJV).

One important inheritance Christ left for us was His peace and the gospel of Christ is the gospel of grace.  Grace came from Christ (John 1:17) and Jesus encouraged the peace greeting by using it Himself:

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27 NKJV)

Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.”So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:19, 21 NKJV)

Earlier when Jesus sent the disciples to go and preach the gospel, He instructed them to salute the household of any house they entered, and that if it is worthy, their peace would come upon it. But if it is not, their peace would return to them - Matthew 10:13. Read more...

Main Secret On How To Save Marriage And Have Joy And Peace

How to save marriage has become a serious issue with couples today. In recent times, the rate of marriage failure has greatly increased. Many factors are attributed for this failure and many solutions are being offered but the main secret on how to save marriage is being ignored. The main secret is ones walk with God, the institutor of Marriage.
God initiated marriage in the first place with Adam and Eve and laid down rules and regulations on how to have joy and peace in your marriage. These rules and regulations are what couples find difficult to obey. I would not blame them because it is difficult to do so with the trend of the world, where some people are fighting for women liberation and the economy is forcing people to focus more on their career than their marriages and family.
However, how to save marriage is purely on God’s principles and for you to follow them you need to retrace your steps back to God. Your walk with God will reveal to you the areas of your marriage you need to address and God will give you the wisdom on how to address them.
Many times couples tend to blame one another for the problems they are facing but never considering that they may be the main cause of the problem. When you walk with God, He will always point out to you where you are going wrong and what to do to correct it. He speaks to us through our conscience and His word (the bible)
Some of the issues that cause problems in homes include lack of attention, communication breakdown, financial problems, pride etc. These are largely wisdom problems and can be dealt with when you apply the wisdom from God’s word. God’s wisdom is higher than man’s wisdom. Man’s wisdom is selfish but God’s wisdom is full of love.
It takes two people to fight. When you are walking with God, He will go ahead and touch your spouse and enable him or her to change his or her attitudes towards you and the problem. If the problem lingers, you will still have peace because you know that God is working it out for you. And with your prayers in line with God’s word, mixed with faith, you will surely save your marriage.
It is therefore very important that you get to know more about God, His principles for a successful marriage and obey them. God has designed marriage for you to enjoy and if yours is about to crash, He also has given us how to save marriage in His word. You are not to have anything short of joy and peace in your marriage, so take the step towards saving your marriage today.

How did your walk with God save your marriage? Please share your experience with other readers.

Gods Love- A Must Have Weapon Against The Storm Of Life That Delivers Peace Of Mind

In this world we will have challenges, storms of life. Situations around us will perturb us; sometimes discouragement or depression may set in throwing us off course. At such times, Gods love gives us the strength to go through it and emerge victorious. An understanding of the love of God for you gives you the assurance that God will give you victory again.

Our God is ever ready to shower His love for us but many times we do not let Him. We usually allow the storms of life to so overwhelm us that we find it difficult to look unto God for help; sometimes we even do not remember God at that period. We would rather cry, wale, run here and there than seek for the help of our God in heaven. God Jesus is bigger than all our problems and He is more than able to solve the problems for us.

Furthermore, guilt hinders people from receiving Gods love for them. They find it strange to believe that God can come to their rescue even when they have done wrong. Gods love is different from the world’s kind of love. It is true that God hates sin but he loves sinners. The love of God will deliver first and afterwards show you how not to commit the wrong again.

Gods love gives us peace of mind when we acknowledge that He loves us and that if He could sacrifice His only son for us then there is nothing He would not give us. When we focus on Jesus and not the problem, He being the Prince of Peace will flood peace into our minds. We would be calm enough to receive instructions on how to overcome the challenge before us. Jesus does have the answer to every challenge.

Are you in need of peace of mind? Believe and receive Gods love for you. Jesus who knows the end from the beginning will cause that situation to turn around for your good. Our God will cause you to smile and laugh again. Victory is sure when Jesus is in charge. He has never failed and He will never fail.
