Praise God, It's A New Year!

It's a new year. Praise God, you made it into the New Year! A new year, new beginning, new opportunities and another chance to do better than before. No matter how last year was, this year gives you the privilege to do better. This post encourages you to celebrate, for God who caused you to see this year will be there to help you take greater steps this time.

It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare your loving-kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night - Psalms 92:1-2 (NKJV).

Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassion fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness - Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV).

It is really good to give thanks to the Lord for last year; this means that it is bad not to give thanks to the Lord. If you will be sincere, you know that God's love, mercy and faithfulness were obviously in manifestation in your life throughout last year. A wise man said that if you have lost anything, it is because of God that you didn't lose everything, and that includes your life (paraphrased).

No matter what may have transpired last year contrary to your plan or desire, you still owe God praise and thanksgiving because it could have been worse. Many people had great plans for this New Year but they are no more to execute or see them materialize, but you are alive to give the year what it demands for a glorious future.

It's time to lift your hands in worship and praise to our merciful and faithful God, who despite all odds counted you worthy to see this New Year. Certainly, we are not better than those that are no more; it's just the grace of God speaking on our behalf. So, it's celebration time; time to count your blessings and name them one by one. Praise As A Life Style Is What You Need At This Time

Do you know that life without praise unto God is a disaster? Praise unto the Lord is the solution for the challenges of life at this time. As such, making praise a life style is absolutely a wise decision. This post emphasizes the need to be praising the Father as a lifestyle.

But You are holy, O You who are enthroned in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered] - Psalm 22:3 (AMP).

Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him - Psalms 67:5-7 (NKJV).

The vine has dried up, and the fig tree has withered; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree— All the trees of the field are withered; surely joy has withered away from the sons of men - Joel 1:12 (NKJV).

The enemy has so screwed this earth that many people are living in fear, anger, hunger, sickness and disease, poverty, depression and frustration. It now looks as if it is the normal thing. However, it was not so originally. It is the absence of adequate praise unto the Lord that resulted in what we are seeing and experiencing this day.

Praise changes the atmosphere of a place. It determines what force or power that takes charge of an environment or situation. Praise unto God brings Him to the scene while praise to the devil attracts the enemy. Are you wondering how people praise the devil? Any time you are declaring the works of the enemy you are praising him. You are expected to declare the works of God at all times.

What happens when you praise God?

1. God dwells with you - Psalm 22:3

God dwells wherever praise is offered. This leads to abundant joy because you find joy in the presence of God (Psalm 16:11). Where there is joy, there is fruitfulness and no dryness. What can you possibly do at this time of the year to provoke divine intervention? The year seems to be rounding up and you are yet to receive your heart desire from God, don’t worry I have good news for you. God, who created the entire world and everything within it in six days, is able to meet your needs even now. This post emphasizes on what action to take at this eleventh-hour for your breakthrough.

As the song writer Johnson Oatman stated, you need to count your blessings and name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done. People focus on one or two things they desire from the Lord and then, forget the ones God has been doing for them daily and the additions He added without their asking for them. Hand Over Your Battle In A Dance

Are you crying or shouting over the challenges in your life? If you are, how far have you gone in solving them? One thing I am sure of by experience is that crying over challenges never gets it solved. But there is a way to get it solved: in a dance! This post tells you how to win a battle by dancing. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation (Psalm 149:3-4, NKJV, emphasis mine)

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord. (Psalm 149:6-9, NKJV)

The storms of life will surely come, but how you respond to it is what really matters. There are times; you will feel that you don’t know what else to do; everything seems to be crowding you and wanting to choke you. The wisest thing to do at such a time is to get up and shout “Halleluiah!” And start digging it in a dance unto God.

Sing praises unto God from your heart and dance vigorously.

Why praise in a dance?

This is an act of your faith in God who is King of kings and is above all. In a praise-dance you hand over your battle to God. You are saying, “God I can’t handle this, I can’t defeat them but you can handle and have defeated these, (John 16:33)” Your fight is not a physical fight but a spiritual one (Ephesians 6:12) and so requires a spiritual approach.
