Why Live A Life Of Gratitude Unto God As A Lifestyle?

 

How often do you thank God? It is normal for many people to complain and murmur more than to give thanks to God. However, thanksgiving is the way of life of a true believer and it determines his access to God and His blessings. In this post, you're encouraged to live a life of gratitude as a lifestyle.

 

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you - I Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV).

 

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name - Psalms 100:4 (NKJV).

 

Introduction

A person that is grateful will be thankful. However, discontentment has made it difficult for many people to see the goodness of God around them. This causes them not to appreciate God for His blessings. Rather, they would murmur and complain to God for the things He's yet to do for them. Yet a life of gratitude as a lifestyle is a way to get more from the Lord. Therefore, now you're saved, exercise yourself in being grateful to God all the time.

 

Why Thanksgiving?

1. It is the will of God

It's God's will that we give Him thanks in everything. This includes when it's favourable or not favourable. And as a child of God, you're to obey the will of God. Also, as you give our Father thanks, He will come into that situation, and what is not of God will disappear.

 

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you - I Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV).

 

2. It gives access to the Father

You enter the gates of heaven with thanksgiving if you desire to gain access to God. Otherwise, you will not be allowed into the Lord's presence. So, no matter how urgent or pressing your request is, you must first give thanks to the Almighty Father.

3. Secures your blessings

Expressing your gratitude to God will secure your blessings. This is because as you praise the Lord, He causes increases to come your way. And these increases can be in different forms, including financial and material blessings.

Praise God, It's A New Year!

It's a new year. Praise God, you made it into the New Year! A new year, new beginning, new opportunities and another chance to do better than before. No matter how last year was, this year gives you the privilege to do better. This post encourages you to celebrate, for God who caused you to see this year will be there to help you take greater steps this time.

It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare your loving-kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night - Psalms 92:1-2 (NKJV).

Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassion fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness - Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV).

It is really good to give thanks to the Lord for last year; this means that it is bad not to give thanks to the Lord. If you will be sincere, you know that God's love, mercy and faithfulness were obviously in manifestation in your life throughout last year. A wise man said that if you have lost anything, it is because of God that you didn't lose everything, and that includes your life (paraphrased).

No matter what may have transpired last year contrary to your plan or desire, you still owe God praise and thanksgiving because it could have been worse. Many people had great plans for this New Year but they are no more to execute or see them materialize, but you are alive to give the year what it demands for a glorious future.

It's time to lift your hands in worship and praise to our merciful and faithful God, who despite all odds counted you worthy to see this New Year. Certainly, we are not better than those that are no more; it's just the grace of God speaking on our behalf. So, it's celebration time; time to count your blessings and name them one by one.
