The Effects Of Spirituality In The Life Of A Man

Do you wonder why you have no peace and your life seems to crash down? Then, one area I will suggest you check is your spirituality. This is because your spirituality determines what happens to you physically. This post relates your success in life to your spirituality in Christ.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God – Romans 8:5-8 (NKJV).

Many people are so bothered and troubled in life that they miss out what the Maker has in store for them. These are results of being carnal. In other words, they set their minds on the things of the flesh and the cares of this world, rather than the things of the Spirit.

You Are A Spirit Being

You are essentially a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body. Therefore, for you to succeed in life, you must not neglect your spirit. This is because your spirit needs to rule over your soul and body to put you on the right path. Otherwise, your life will turn out messed up because your soul and body are not to orchestrate your life. It’s like putting governing of a country in the hands of a child without supervision.

Carnality

Carnality is living according to the dictates of the flesh and enmity against God. For, it is not subject to the law of God, neither is it capable of doing so. As such, it cannot please God and so leads to death. A carnal mind doesn’t consider the will of God before acting but acts spontaneously as the flesh desires. And the works of the flesh include adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like (Galatians 5:19-21). Unfortunately, those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Read more...

Is Gaining The World And Losing Your Soul Worth It?

What shall it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your soul? Every action, thought or word of yours determines the line you are towing. And your time on earth is too short to make wrong choices. This post encourages you to focus on gaining your soul.

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? - Matthew 16:26 (NKJV).

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” - John 11:25 (NKJV).

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment - Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV).

Your soul is more important than the gains of this world and so needs adequate attention. This is because it lives on even after death (John 11:25). It spends eternity either with God (which is God's will) or with the devil. And you ultimately decide where it goes by the things you do here on earth.

The Dilemma

Many people live in this world as if their lives end here. So, they chase after money by all means and fight with all they have for power. They do this even to the point of stealing, killing or destroying others just like the devil whose mission is to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). Unfortunately, these acts are outright consent to spend eternity with the devil.

God's Will

It is not the will of God that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9) but that all should have eternal life. This He showed by giving His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). And Christ has paid the entire price that you may spend eternity with God. Read more...

See Your True Image In The Word Of God

Who do you see when you look at the mirror? This is because who you see determines what you think, say or do and what comes to you. However, the mirror you are using is what dictates the reflection you see. And the best mirror to use is the mirror of the word. This post charges you to see yourself as the word of God sees you.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord – 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV).

So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified – Acts 20:32 (NKJV).

The Challenge

Many Christians are checking themselves with the mirrors of this world, while others are seeing themselves through the eyes of other people. These forms of mirrors will never give you your true image. And until you see your true self you will never be satisfied, peaceful or rested.
Everyone has an impression of you, which most of the time is wrong. Also, you too can wrongly paint a picture of yourself based on opinions of people and circumstances surrounding you. Nevertheless, these opinions can’t change what God, your maker, says about you, which is your true image.

You Are Who God Says You Are

People are free to say what they like about you but you should always cross-check it with what God says about you, and if it is different discard their words. This is because, no one knows you better than your maker, and His description of you never changes. Furthermore, the Lord has documented all about you in His word, so discover them. The Importance Of A Good Testimony From God

Do you know what God thinks of you? The testimony of the Lord goes a long way to determine what is allowed to come to you. So, the occurrences around you, to a great extent, depict what He testifies of you. Therefore, it is important to consider God’s testimony of you for a more fruitful and peaceful life. This post gives the importance of having a good testimony from the Lord.

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land – Job 1:8-10 (NKJV).

Many people are concerned about what other people think about them more than what God thinks. Also, they are more interested in pleasing themselves rather than the lord. This affects what they do and how they respond to God’s instructions, they tend to forget that He has the final say over their lives (Luke 12:16-21). And in so doing, they remove themselves from the Lord’s good book, expose themselves to attacks from the enemy and frequently fall into his traps.

However, when you are upright, fear God and hate evil like Job, you will please the Lord and have good testimonies from Him. Furthermore, the Lord will fully manifest in your life (John 14:21) and show Himself faithful. So, let’s see how He will do these:

The Importance of A Good Testimony From God

1. Success

A good testimony from the Lord will cause Him to bless the work of your hands like He did for Job (Job 1:10), which will lead to success. Read more...
