See Your True Image In The Word Of God

Who do you see when you look at the mirror? This is because who you see determines what you think, say or do and what comes to you. However, the mirror you are using is what dictates the reflection you see. And the best mirror to use is the mirror of the word. This post charges you to see yourself as the word of God sees you.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord – 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV).

So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified – Acts 20:32 (NKJV).

The Challenge

Many Christians are checking themselves with the mirrors of this world, while others are seeing themselves through the eyes of other people. These forms of mirrors will never give you your true image. And until you see your true self you will never be satisfied, peaceful or rested.
Everyone has an impression of you, which most of the time is wrong. Also, you too can wrongly paint a picture of yourself based on opinions of people and circumstances surrounding you. Nevertheless, these opinions can’t change what God, your maker, says about you, which is your true image.

You Are Who God Says You Are

People are free to say what they like about you but you should always cross-check it with what God says about you, and if it is different discard their words. This is because, no one knows you better than your maker, and His description of you never changes. Furthermore, the Lord has documented all about you in His word, so discover them. Examine Yourself - Are You Poor Before God?

What is more important-how people see you or how God sees you? Many people are desperate to be wealthy but are not even concerned about how God sees them. They forget that He made them and that He will be there on judgment day. This post emphasizes the importance of being rich before God.

Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing' - and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and hasten. Therefore be zealous and repent - Revelations 3:17-19 (NKJV).

Many people are doing so many things to be rich. Some are actually overworking themselves and some are into dubious things, while others are into Christian activities just to have God prosper them. You need to always remember that money is not everything.

Is it wrong to be rich? Not at all. God says that He takes pleasure in our prosperity (Psalm 35:27) and that He is the one who teaches us to prosper (Isaiah 48:17). He also wishes above all things that we prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper (3 John 2).

However, the question is, "how does God see you?" He said in Revelations 3:17-19 that those who thought they were rich were actually poor, wretched, miserable, blind and naked! Are there no rich persons before God? Surely, there are many people who are rich before God. What makes them different from other wealthy people is their garment and where they got their wealth.

It is important that you get your wealth from God and more importantly that your garment is white. Your stand with God is the ultimate determinant of how God sees you. Without a white garment, you are naked before God and amounts to nothing. Your garment has to be spotless, without wrinkles nor blemish (Ephesians 5:27). Read more...
