Hallelujah! Easter celebration again! Do you really know why you
celebrated? What does Christ’s death and resurrection mean to you? This
post aims at giving you a better reason for celebrating Easter- Christ
is God’s escape route.
And though the Lord gives you the bread of
adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be
moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers. Your
ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in
it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the
left – Isaiah 30:20-21 (NKJV)
Many people have different reasons
why they celebrate during this period; for some it’s a work free day and
that’s all. But Easter celebration is much more than that. It is a time
we remember how God orchestrated our salvation. Jesus is God’s wisdom
and power (1 Corinthians 1:24).
Adam’s sin against God opened up
the way for sin to have dominion over man. But Christ’s death and
resurrection opened up God’s escape route for man. If the enemy knew he
wouldn’t have killed Jesus (1 Corinthians 2:8). Hallelujah, the devil
doesn’t know everything, but our God does! (Hebrews 4:13)
Sin
comes with consequences which must take their due course. The wages of
sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ (Romans
6:23). This death includes untold challenges and ultimately damnation
forever.
But God sent Jesus to redeem us from our sins and all the
consequences that follow, so that if you receive Him, it becomes a
reality in your life. For God so love the world that He gave His only
son that if you believe in Him you will not perish but have eternal life
(John 3:16). Read more...
