The Blessings Of Abraham And The Holy Spirit

A New Year, a new month, a new beginning full of testimonies! God is set to change your story and take you higher in life. However, you need to engage the provisions made available for you. And this includes the blessings of Abraham and the promise of the Holy Spirit.

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

- Galatians 3:13-14 (NKJV).

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

  • Ephesians 1:13-14 (NKJV).

Introduction

I thank God, the Faithful One, who kept us all through last year and caused us to see this New Year. Truly, last year sent many to their early graves but the Lord exempted us. And for that, I say glory to God!

Also, our Father brought us into this New Year, not to abandon us or forsake us, but to bless us. For the path of the just shines brighter and brighter by the day. However, for this year to yield her increase to you, you must understand the provisions made available to you in redemption.

Redemption From The Curse Of Law

It's wonderful that not long after the celebration of the birth of Christ, we have the New Year. This gives us the opportunity to connect with the Lord who is able to bring about peace and joy in our lives. Read more...

Why Did Jesus Christ Come In The Flesh?

Why would God send His Son to earth as a normal human being to redeem mankind?  Couldn't God have used His power as the Creator of the universe to restore man to Himself? The answer is No. Christ's coming in the flesh is very significant and important to His mission on earth.

For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,”

- Romans 8:3 (NKJV).

To fully deal with the issue of sin, which could not be dealt with through the law, God had to send His Son. He sent Him in the likeness of sinful flesh to permanently deal with sin.

The Word Was Made Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

- John 1:1-2, 14 (NKJV).

Christ was there from the beginning of creation. And at the appointed time, the Word came as a man into this world. He was God and man at the same time on earth. Unfortunately, this is what the deceivers and the spirit of the antichrist have refused to accept. Hence, they're saying that God didn't come in the flesh, and as such Christ is a lie. So, to them, what Jesus claimed to represent and stood for were all false. Therefore, anyone who denies the coming of Jesus in the flesh is not of the Spirit of God but of the antichrist.

By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

- I John 4:2 (NKJV).

“For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

- 2 John 1:7 (NKJV).

WHY DID JESUS COME IN THE FLESH?

Must Be Born Of A Woman

In order for Christ to redeem man, He had to be born and live like a man. This is because God had given man the authority over the earth. Unfortunately, Adam sold out to the devil. And until man's tenure expires only a man has the legal right to take back that authority from the devil. Therefore, God prophesied from the very beginning to the serpent, that the seed of the woman, whom he had deceived, would bruise his head.

And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel. Read more...

Why Did Jesus Christ Come To The World

Why would Jesus leave the comfort of heaven, where He was God, and come to earth, where He would be mocked and killed? This question when answered will cause you to appreciate the love of God for mankind. And an understanding of the answer will help you hold unto your salvation in Christ. So, in this post, we will look at why Jesus came to the earth.

Jesus Came Into This World To:

1. Demonstrate God's Love

One major reason why Jesus came into this world was for God to demonstrate His love for us. Such that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. For, He gave His Son Jesus that whoever will believe in Christ will not perish but have everlasting life.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

- Romans 5:8 (NKJV).

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

- John 3:16 (NKJV).

The state of the fallen man, full of shame and reproach, wasn't pleasing to God. For it was contrary to what He purposed for man. For His plan was for man to subdue the earth and have dominion over all He created. Unfortunately, when Adam disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit, this plan was thwarted. And the devil took the original place of man on earth, subduing and having dominion on earth.

However, the Lord's love for man would not allow Him to leave man in a defeated state. And this is why He sent Jesus to restore man back to his original state of authority. However, man can only receive this when he reconnects to God through Christ Jesus.

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

- 2 Corinthians 5:18 (NKJV).

2. Do The Will Of God And Fulfill The Old Testament

All through the Old Testament, the prophets prophesied about the coming of Christ: His birth, why He was to come, and what will be done to him. And all these were the will of the Father, which He spoke about through the prophets. Therefore, Jesus came to fulfill the law and in the process do the will of His Father.

Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’

- Hebrews 10:7 .NKJV).

Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

- Matthew 5:17-18 (NKJV).

Now, it is worth noting that if part of what the prophets said concerning Jesus happened, then whatever is remaining will also happen. And that includes Christ's second coming.

What Does It Mean To Be Saved

What does it mean to be saved? Many people don't understand what salvation in Christ means and this makes them treat it as being trivial. While others mock those who are saved. And some people who have received this salvation keep going through the process of being saved again and again. This they do because they lack understanding of what it means to get saved.

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation - Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV).

Genesis

The fall of man

Salvation of our souls started from the very beginning, from the time of the fall of man. This was when God planned the redemption of man. So in Genesis 3:14-15, God declared the future to the serpent, how the seed of the woman would bruise his head while he will bruise the heel of the woman's seed.

So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel." (Genesis 3:14-15 NKJV).

The above scripture talks about a seed, which connotes one seed and not more than one. And Christ is the only seed of a woman who has bruised the head of the devil, and the enemy bruised his heel in the process. This the enemy achieved by the persecution and death that Christ suffered. Are you saved? Praise God if you are! This is the best decision you can ever make in life. This is because it affects you not only here on earth but also hereafter. Also, It's a decision that goes beyond the physical to enthrone you spiritually. It’s Expensive To Disobey God

Are you between two opinions, to obey or to disobey God? Then you need to pause and consider your decision very well. Many Christians make decisions in a haste only to discover that they were wrong decisions. However, we can avoid unpleasant experiences if we will choose to obey God all the time. This post emphasizes the need to choose to obey God all the time because it’s expensive to disobey God.

So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.”- 1 Samuel 15:22-23 (NKJV).

People Give Reasons For Disobedience

People always have reasons why they choose to disobey God. And many of the reasons are often okay to man. However, it never changes the fact that it’s disobedience to God. And you will always have two choices to choose from before any action: to obey or disobey God. And YOU make the final choice.

Some people disobey out of ignorance or lack of adequate information. And some others disobey out of mere fleshly desires, which include lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and pride of life. Nevertheless, no matter the reason, the consequences of disobedience is expensive.

Gravity Of Disobedience

It’s truly expensive to disobey God, and you will surely pay for it either now or later. And the gravity of the consequence depends on the issue of disobedience and how God considers it. Furthermore, the gravity of disobedience also depends on who disobeyed. This is because, to whom much is given, much is expected (Luke 12:48). Read more...
