Turn Those Prayer Request To Thanksgiving

Introduction

Have you been praying and it's as if your prayers are not being answered? This can depress or discourage one if one is not grounded in God's love and word. It's time to switch to thanksgiving and praise for a change of story.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed - Acts 16:25-26 (KJV).

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God - Philippians 4:6 (NKJV).

Thanksgiving Prayer

People have prayed for things to the point they think that God does not answer prayers or God doesn't want to answer them; yet it's not true. The word of God says we should pray and conclude with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6). When you pray according to God's will, He hears you. Since He hears you, you know that you have received the petitions that you asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15). So, the next thing to do is to thank Him till you see the manifestation of what you asked for.

It's time to turn those prayer requests into thanksgiving. Instead of asking for those things again and again, start thanking God for them. Thank Him for hearing your prayers and for their manifestation. This shows that you believe that God has answered your prayers and that it will soon be a reality. Start celebrating as if you already have them. Thanksgiving is an express indicator of your faith in God. Read more...

8 Reasons Why You Should Pray As A Child Of God

What can prayer do in the life of a new believer in Christ? The place of prayer in the life of a child of God cannot be over-emphasized. This is because it's the live-wire of a Christian. For you need an open line to reach your Father at any time and anywhere. This post gives you 8 reasons why you should pray as a child of God

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

- Matthew 6:6 (NKJV, emphasis is mine).

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

- Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV).

Pray without ceasing.

- I Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV).

Introduction

Prayer is a channel of communication with the Father and not optional for any child of God. This, we can deduce from Christ's instructions to the disciples in Matthew 6:6. For He said to them, “when you pray”, not “if you pray”. As such, it's expected for every believing Christian to pray. And Paul even admonished that we should pray without ceasing. Furthermore, God encouraged us to pray to Him, for He has great and mighty things to share with us. Therefore, the place of prayer in the life of a child of God is paramount to his or her growth. And it's important for his or her success in the kingdom.

8 Reasons Why You Should Pray As A Child Of God

1. Fellowship

Every parent desires to fellowship with the children and so does God the Father. This we see in the book of Genesis, where He would go down to fellowship with Adam and Eve. Truly, the Lord desires to fellowship with us that He may give us His nature and His great blessings. Also, in His presence, there is fullness of joy and at His right hand pleasures forevermore. So, when you pray, you get to talk to God as you would your earthly father. Read more...

The Power Of Two-Two Are Better Than One

It is not good to be alone, for it limits one in many areas. However, two are better than one. For the achievements of two are in multiples compared to the achievements of one. This post emphasizes the need to engage the power of two, anywhere possible in your life.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NKJV).

Introduction

The power of two cannot be overemphasized. For, it is a major key to success in life. And anyone who understands it and engages it is bound to succeed in life. Also, it is a divine number because God recognizes the power of two and engages it too.

Now, when God created everything He saw that they were good except the man. For concerning Adam, the Lord said it was not good when a man is alone (Genesis 2:18). So, He created Eve for Adam and it took two of them to produce children. Again, when God was blessing mothers, He said they would be joyful mothers of children (Psalm 113:9), connoting a minimum of two. Furthermore, when Jesus Christ sent out His disciples to go and evangelize, He sent them out in twos (Luke 10:1). And there are many other scriptures where the power of two was engaged. Surely, the power of two cannot be taken for granted.

Benefits of The Power Of Two

1. Good reward for their labour (Ecclesiastes 4:9)

When two people engage in any good purpose, they're always rewarded with good. This is because they employ the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and ability of both. For instance, it takes the Father and Mother to have children. And children are good rewards. Read more...

War Believing

Do you believe that the prophecy will be fulfilled in your life? It is one thing to war with the prophecy and it is another thing to believe that your prayer has been answered. Praying without faith is praying with the expectation that the prayers will not be answered. This post emphasizes that you are to war with prophecies in faith.

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck - I Timothy 1:18-19 (NKJV).

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them - Mark 11:22-24 (NKJV).

Many people pray and cry to God, quote the relevant scriptures, but get up from praying wondering if God will answer them. This thought of theirs cancels out their prayers. Unfortunately, they will not receive their desired answer. Every prayer done with doubt is a prayer not to be answered. Until you believe that you receive them you will not have them (Mark 11:24).

Paul told Timothy to war with prophecies concerning him in faith (1 Timothy 1:18-19). God has declared the prophecies concerning you; now you have to war with these prophecies to see them fulfilled in your life and you have to do so in faith. God is looking out for faith in you to deliver your goods to you (Luke 18:8). Faith is the currency for the transaction between you and God. Read more...

How To Prevail In Prayer

Only those who prevail in prayers prevail in life and only those who travail ever prevail in the altar of prayers. Prevailing prayers require that you engage your entire being in prayers. It is a process of invoking divine intervention in prayers

Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children – Isaiah 66:7-8 (KJV)

…the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months – James 5:16-17 (KJV)

Many people are praying but few are prevailing and returning with their testimonies. It takes prevailing in prayer to have dominion over that challenge in your life. And knowing how to travail in prayer empowers you to prevail at all times.

How to prevail in prayers
  1. Engage your heart to provoke divine intervention
Travail begins from the heart. It is pouring your soul unto the Lord. Engaging your heart will result in explosive answered prayers. Hannah poured her soul unto the Lord and God remembered her and she received Samuel. Her mouth was not moving but her heart was fully engaged, (1 Samuel 1:13-19)
  1. It takes groaning in the Spirit to travail in prayers
This is engaging the help of the Holy Spirit in prayers. He makes intercession for saints with groaning and according to the will of God, (Romans 8:26-28). And when you pray according to the will of God, He hears you and grants you the petitions that you desired of Him, 1 John 5:14-15. The ultimate purpose of groaning is a supernatural change of level in life. Read more...

It Is According To The Power That Works In You

Have you ever wondered why some people get answers to their prayers faster than others? God answers to prayers prayed according to His word but not at the same speed with everyone. It is according to the power that works in you. This post emphasizes the need to increase the working of God’s power within you if you want to receive answered prayers faster.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us - Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV, emphasis mine)

It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear – Isaiah 65:24 (NKJV)

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you – Romans 8:11 (NKJV)

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you will ask or think, but it is according to the power that works in you. There is nothing impossible for God to do, but we are the ones limiting God by our thoughts, words and actions. And these are dependent on the power of God’s word within us, which determines the power that is at work in us.

Jesus said that it is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing. And that the words that He spoke to us are spirit and they are life – John 6:63. So, the more of His words that you receive, the more of the Spirit you receive too;  and the Spirit of God is the power of God at work in Christian believers, but in different levels and anointing.

Ephesians 1:19-20 makes us to understand that the exceeding greatness of God’s power toward us who believe is according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead; and Romans 8:11 tells us that God raised Christ by His Spirit. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is God’s mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead. Read more...

Key To The World Of Answered Prayers

I have done all I know to do, still my prayers remain unanswered. I have prayed about these issues for a long time, yet no answer. These may be your laments too. But your desire may require a major key that is usually neglected. This article is about one of the keys to the world of answered prayers.

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises – Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise – Hebrews 10:36 (KJV)

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain - James 5:7 (KJV)

In this age of technology where everything is going towards easy and fast life, people want to pray now and receive answers immediately, neglecting the need for patience. Unfortunately, it’s not the case for every issue. Sometimes, according to the all knowing God, the answer is best delivered in the future, for your own good and to the glory of His name.

Patience is a neglected major key to the world of answered prayers. Believers study and mediate on God’s word, they pray and confess God’s word but fail to patiently wait for their desired result. Faith in God’s ability and desire to answer our prayers delivers our desires to us. But many times we need to exercise patience to receive answers from God. Read more...
