War In Faith With A Good Conscience

Have you ever exercised faith and your request was not granted? It could be that you have need of patience in order to obtain the promise (Hebrews 10:36). However, it could also be that lack of good conscience on your part deprived you of your desired answered prayers. This post emphasizes the need of a good conscience if your faith is to deliver in prayers.

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck - I Timothy 1:18-19 (NKJV, emphasis mine).

If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear - Psalms 66:18 (NKJV).

Faith works with good conscience. Many Christians' faith do not work because they don't have good conscience. When you reject pure conscience, your faith will suffer shipwreck. The psalmist says that God will not hear him if he habours iniquity in his heart. This is so also for all believers. The Father will not hear you if you have un-confessed sin in your heart. Your heart must be void of offence for your faith to work.

What is good conscience?
Conscience is a moral sense of right or wrong that acts as a guide to the way a person behaves. It is that small still voice that tries to get you to walk in line with the Lord's word, that cautions you when you are going wrong or about to do the wrong thing. Clear conscience then means a conscience void of offence towards God and men (Acts 24:16). The Amplified version of 1 Peter 3:21 calls it an inward cleanness and peace.

A good conscience bears you witness in the Holy Spirit (Romans 9:1). It makes you to seek to conduct yourself morally well with personal integrity and in an honourable way. It is actually commendable if for the sake of maintaining a pure conscience you suffer wrongly (1 Peter 2:19). You are to possess a clear conscience so that when people accuse you wrongly they will be put to shame at the end. Read more...

War Believing

Do you believe that the prophecy will be fulfilled in your life? It is one thing to war with the prophecy and it is another thing to believe that your prayer has been answered. Praying without faith is praying with the expectation that the prayers will not be answered. This post emphasizes that you are to war with prophecies in faith.

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck - I Timothy 1:18-19 (NKJV).

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them - Mark 11:22-24 (NKJV).

Many people pray and cry to God, quote the relevant scriptures, but get up from praying wondering if God will answer them. This thought of theirs cancels out their prayers. Unfortunately, they will not receive their desired answer. Every prayer done with doubt is a prayer not to be answered. Until you believe that you receive them you will not have them (Mark 11:24).

Paul told Timothy to war with prophecies concerning him in faith (1 Timothy 1:18-19). God has declared the prophecies concerning you; now you have to war with these prophecies to see them fulfilled in your life and you have to do so in faith. God is looking out for faith in you to deliver your goods to you (Luke 18:8). Faith is the currency for the transaction between you and God. Read more...

War A Good Warfare With The Prophecies Concerning You

What prophecies have gone ahead concerning you? What are you doing to see them fulfilled in your life? God wants to bless you but the enemy wants to steal the blessings from you. This is the reason you must war to see the fulfillment of God's word in your life. This post gives you one important step you must engage to prevent the enemy from stealing your blessings.

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare - 1 Timothy 1:18 (KJV).
Rise, take your journey, and cross over the River Arnon. Look, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to possess it, and engage him in battle - Deuteronomy 2:24 (NKJV).

God's thoughts for you are not evil but good to give you a future and hope (Jeremiah 29:11). His plan is to give you richly all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17). However, the enemy has an opposite agenda against you, which is to steal, kill and destroy all that concerns you. But God has made a way for us to still receive our blessing in spite of the devil, which is to engage him in battle.

In Deuteronomy 2:24, God gave into the hands of the Israelites their enemy, the King Sihon and his land, but He asked them to begin to possess it by contending with him in a battle. The land was theirs by prophecy and victory was assured by the Lord, but they had to take possession of it by engaging the king in battle. Read more...
