What It Means To Be a Friend of Jesus

Are you a friend of Jesus? Do you know what it means to have a friend in Jesus? Being without friends is lonely and frustrating but it is even worse when Jesus is not one’s friend. Jesus wants to be friends to all but only those who accept Him get to have Jesus as a friend.

Jesus is that friend you need at all times, in times of joy and peace or in times of sorrow and disappointments, etc. He is always there for His friends. You don’t need to go far to reach Him neither do you need to spend money calling Him. He is there with you even now.

Having a friend in Jesus is to have peace of mind in times of trouble. He comforts us and leads us in the path of peace and joy, Psalm 23:2. Have you ever needed a shoulder to cry on? Jesus as a friend forever provides His shoulder for us to cry on. Yes, you can go to Him and pour out your heart to Him. He truly understands and cares about us and all that concerns us.

“For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weakness and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we, yet without sinning.” (Hebrews 4:15, AMP)

A good friend can tell you what is the matter with you in a minute. He may not seem such a good friend after telling - Arthur Brisbane. Jesus is a friend indeed! He tells you when you are wrong. In fact, He rebukes and chastens; all because He loves us and does not want us to go down the road of destruction, Hebrews 12:6.

The Word of God- a Pillar for Success in Life

“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh”, King Solomon. The word of God is a pillar for success in life. Anyone who adheres to it gets to enjoy its benefits
.
The word of God (the bible) is God’s manual to mankind on how to live a successful life on this earth He created. It is God speaking to the people He made on how to enjoy the life He gave them. It maps out the steps to take for a most glorious journey on earth.

Those who despise the word of God not only despise God but also their cheapest way to success in life. “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success,” Joshua 1:8 (KJV).

What the world celebrates as success includes wealth, fame and power. But many of these celebrities will give all they have to have peace of mind, enjoy a stable home and family, good health and true freedom, etc. The word of God when obeyed ensures that you have all round success.

The word of God leads you to success, teaches you how to maintain it, how to enjoy it with peace of mind and how to teach others to enjoy the same. The word of God keeps you from troubles and prevents losses from coming your way. Many have gotten great ideas simply by meditating on God’s word and obeying it. That can be your story too. 5 Fervent prayer enhancers

Do you need speedy answers to your prayers? Or do you wonder what you need in order to pray more fervently? Prayer is a channel of communication with God and fervent prayer is a hot line to heaven. It gives you unobstructed link to God and delivers speedy answers to your prayers.

Whatever your purpose for desiring to pray more fervently, you need some tools or enhancers to accomplish that purpose. And no matter your level of fervency already in prayer, you can improve and enjoy more of God’s blessings. So here are the tools for enhancing fervent prayer

Fervent prayer enhancers

1. Time
Though it is not how long you pray but how well you pray that matters, you still need adequate and quality time to pray fervently. When you have enough time, you will be able to sufficiently plead your case before God, (Isaiah 43:26). Elijah was not in a hurry when he was praying fervently for rain to fall. He prayed till there was a sign in heaven, 1 Kings 18:42-44). You also need to pray till you have peace within you.

It is difficult to concentrate in a noisy environment. You need quietness all around you and also within you for you to pray effectively and receive answer from God. For instance, the night before His crucifixion, Jesus was up on Mount Olives alone in fervent prayer before God and an angel came and strengthened Him for the task ahead, (Luke 22:41-44). An enhancer like a quiet place makes all the difference. Read more...

Fervent Prayer-A Master Key to Unlimited Success

Prayer is the live wire of an unlimited breakthrough. The desire to enjoy all round success is uppermost in people’s minds and some work round the clock to achieve this. But very few employ the leverage of fervent prayer. Unstoppable breakthrough is a possibility to all who are ready to pay the price.

Many Christians know they ought to pray more fervently. The problem is the application of this knowledge. There are more urgent, though not important, issues that tend to crowd our minds. For some people, it may be sleep that won’t let them pray. But an understanding of the power of fervent prayer would change our attitude towards pray.

In a time like now, when the enemy knows that his time is running out, the devil will not fold his hands and allow saints to enjoy the blessings of God without putting up a fight. For every breakthrough there was at least one obstacle. To overcome such obstacles, the power of fervent prayer must be engaged.

The good news is that our Lord Jesus Christ has promised us a world of unlimited breakthrough if we will hold unto Him, (John 16:33). He is ready to take us through every step of the way. But we MUST ask Him for help in prayer with a heart full of expectation and faith. Read more...

The Power of Speaking Into Your Future

If you think you can win, you can win. Faith is necessary to victory - William Hazlitt. Our future is determined by what you think, say and do whether good or bad. All three must work together for you to have your future full of better results. The question is - are you engaging ALL THREE and are they faith-based?

Engaging thoughts and actions are not difficult to comprehend and practice but the speaking aspect is usually the missing ingredient. Speaking faith words blends with your thoughts and actions to give you a most successful life.

Do you want to see and experience a most successful month or year? Then you need to start saying so NOW. What you say now determines what you see tomorrow. Mark 11:23 says that you shall whatsoever you say! No one sows an orange seed and reaps a mango fruit. Keeping quiet is the same as sowing nothing and you will at the end reap nothing.

Therefore, if you want success, speak success words and not how everything you are doing is not working. If you want good health, speak health words and not how you always fall sick at the end of every month. Death and life are in the power of the tongue – King Solomon. Speak life that you may live.

5 Steps to Make Your New Year Resolution Work

Hi, Jesus still loves you
I will be a better spouse, father or mother this year, I will not smoke or drink anymore, and I will start this business finally this year, etc. You must have heard or made such New Year resolutions last year and probably this year again. A new year should be better than the previous and making a quality decision to work towards it is very important. The issue is how can I ensure that I don’t give up after some weeks or months?

Many times I had made resolutions that I couldn’t keep till the end of the year. But through some studies and experience, I have come to realise that it is not by my might, nor by my power but by the help of God. Our weak points, trials and temptations can so strong that we need divine empowerment to be able to overcome them.

So how can you make your New Year resolution work this time

1. Make a resolution
Identify what you need to see changed this year and make a decision to change it. To wish it away or to TRY to change it is as good as saying, “Let this issue remain as it is”. Make an active decision to finally resolve the issue and you are on your way to putting it to rest.

2. Acknowledge your incapability
Until you accept that you need help, you will still be struggling with your resolution. Many failed to fulfil their New Year resolution, not because they were not determined enough but because they were overcome by temptations, challenges and fleshly desires. The spirit may be willing but the flesh is weak. (Mathew 26:41)
