How to save marriage has become a serious issue with couples today. In recent times, the rate of marriage failure has greatly increased. Many factors are attributed for this failure and many solutions are being offered but the main secret on how to save marriage is being ignored. The main secret is ones walk with God, the institutor of Marriage.

God initiated marriage in the first place with Adam and Eve and laid down rules and regulations on how to have joy and peace in your marriage. These rules and regulations are what couples find difficult to obey. I would not blame them because it is difficult to do so with the trend of the world, where some people are fighting for women liberation and the economy is forcing people to focus more on their career than their marriages and family.

However, how to save marriage is purely on God’s principles and for you to follow them you need to retrace your steps back to God. Your walk with God will reveal to you the areas of your marriage you need to address and God will give you the wisdom on how to address them.

Many times couples tend to blame one another for the problems they are facing but never considering that they may be the main cause of the problem. When you walk with God, He will always point out to you where you are going wrong and what to do to correct it. He speaks to us through our conscience and His word (the bible)

Some of the issues that cause problems in homes include lack of attention, communication breakdown, financial problems, pride etc. These are largely wisdom problems and can be dealt with when you apply the wisdom from God’s word. God’s wisdom is higher than man’s wisdom. Man’s wisdom is selfish but God’s wisdom is full of love.

It takes two people to fight. When you are walking with God, He will go ahead and touch your spouse and enable him or her to change his or her attitudes towards you and the problem. If the problem lingers, you will still have peace because you know that God is working it out for you. When you say I will not bow to evil and make it a lifestyle, you will never burn. Whose side are you on?

Confidence to refuse to bow to what is wrong comes when you know that a higher power is backing you up. God Jesus is higher than any other authority and He forever looks out for His own to bless them and to protect them at all times. His name is above every other name and even the devil trembles at the mention of His name. Are you on Jesus’ side?

Know your God

The 3 Hebrew boys had a good knowledge of their God. They knew His capabilities, how to invite Him into any situation and how to disengage His help. The scriptures say in Daniel that they that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. And you know your God through Bible scriptures. Our God reveals Himself to us as we study and practice the word of God.

Expect challenges

God Jesus told us that in this world we would have troubles. Being a Christian does not exempt you from the challenges of the world but it gives you the upper hand because Jesus also said that we should not worry for He has overcome the world including its troubles. Therefore expect challenges and build yourself to overcome them. These challenges are not to burn you but to lift you to your high places in victory.

Declare your desires and beliefs

The word of God says that we will have what we say. The 3 Hebrew boys declared that our God would deliver them and He did so. Do not be afraid to declare your faith in God. God is waiting to hear you vote for Him. Until you say it, your faith in God will not be put to action.

Trust God with your last breath

The 3 Hebrew boys refused to bow even if God would not deliver them. They would rather die than bow and serve another god.  This should be our stand at all times because God always honours such faith and even when it does not work out the way we expected, God still turns it to work out for our own good at the end. He is a faithful God!

At the end of the story, our God was waiting for the 3 Hebrew boys in the burning fiery furnace. They were thrown in but they were not burnt, even there was no smell of fire on them. God says in His word that when you pass through the waters, He will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

Challenges will surely come but when you refuse to bow, you will not burn. I will not bow and I will not burn, the same can be your stand.

Daniel’s faith in God did not exempt him from working hard; instead he manifested the grace of our God in diligent service. God is a hard worker and his followers are to emulate Him. His colleagues could not find any fault with him in relation to his work because he was always at his best. His faithfulness gave him favour before all the rulers.

• He was very studious and prayerful.

Though he was a busy man, the most senior president, he still found time to commune with the Almighty God, our God who knows the end from the beginning. God delivered to him the keys with which he excelled during his quiet time. The interpretations of the ruler’s dreams were given to him while he sought God in prayers.

• He had an excellent Spirit

Another secret of Daniel that boosted his manager leader qualities was an excellent Spirit which was given to him by God. The Spirit of God was upon him and was evident in his day to day activities. This distinguished him from the other leaders and showed that it pays to serve God.

The secrets of Daniel that made him a successful manager leader is still making people leaders to be reckoned with. Anybody who walks in the footsteps of Daniel will enjoy God’s backing because he shows Himself faithful on behalf of those who walk uprightly. In this world we will have challenges, storms of life. Situations around us will perturb us; sometimes discouragement or depression may set in throwing us off course. At such times, Gods love gives us the strength to go through it and emerge victorious. An understanding of the love of God for you gives you the assurance that God will give you victory again.

Our God is ever ready to shower His love for us but many times we do not let Him. Gods love gives us peace of mind when we acknowledge that He loves us and that if He could sacrifice His only son for us then there is nothing He would not give us. When we focus on Jesus and not the problem, He being the Prince of Peace will flood peace into our minds. We would be calm enough to receive instructions on how to overcome the challenge before us. Jesus does have the answer to every challenge.

Our God is Love. Everything He does is motivated by His love for mankind. When He chastises, it is out of love for the person. Every Father that loves his child disciplines him; our God loves more than any father. He even gave His only son for mankind all because of God’s love. We will respect one another and help each other. You will do it just because you love them. You will not keep record of wrongs done to you and you will not pay back evil with evil but with good

There is no fear when you walk in God’s love. Fear torments but when you walk in love fear is removed from you. Fear opens you up to all manner of attacks including sickness and diseases. Love clears fear away and everything that goes with it

The love of God gives peace, joy to your heart. In the midst of storms you will be calm because of the assurance of God’s love which is able to deliver you from whatsoever may come against you. What god can protect like our God?

We can face tomorrow because Jesus lives and His love is new every morning. His Love is a pillar to all that will hold unto it or lean on it. It never fails!
