Walk With God-Solution To Marriage Crisis

Many marriages are not what God ordained it to be. Marriage is to give peace and joy to the couple and glory to God. However in recent times, the rate of marriage failure has greatly increased. But there is solution to this marriage crisis and that is a walk with God!

Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously; yet she is your companion and your wife by covenant – Malachi 2:14 (NKJV)

God initiated marriage in the first place with Adam and Eve and is a witness between you and your spouse. He laid down rules and regulations on how to have joy and peace in your marriage – Ephesians 5:21-31. These rules are the pillars for success in marriage.

Therefore to successfully deal with issues in your marriage, you need to purely adhere to God’s principles. And you can only appreciate these principles when you retrace your steps back to God. Your walk with God will reveal to you the areas of your marriage you need to address and God will give you the wisdom on how to address them.

Many times people tend to blame their spouses for the problems they are facing but they never consider that they may be the main cause of the problem. When you walk with God, He will always point out to you where you are going wrong and what to do to correct it. He speaks to us through our conscience and His word (the bible)

Some of the issues that cause problems in homes include lack of attention, communication breakdown, financial problems, pride etc. These are largely wisdom problems and can be dealt with when you apply the wisdom from God’s word. God’s wisdom is higher than man’s wisdom. Man’s wisdom is selfish but God’s wisdom is full of love. Read more...

Marriage is to be enjoyed and not endured. Lay hands on the marriage secrets and you will have memorable story to tell generations after you. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered – 1 Peter 3:7 (KJV)

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge – Hebrews 13:4 (KJV)

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me – Matthew 25:40 (KJV)

In a husband and wife relationship, ability to honour one another is a virtue that a couple should possess if they are to enjoy a successful marriage. Honouring one another among other things ensures that your prayers are not hindered. But then what is the yard-stick for honouring your spouse?

One major success secret is to honour your spouse as you honour God. This is the yard-stick. It is an act of worship unto God when you honour your spouse because he/she is a creation of God. 7 Reasons for Forgiveness in Marriage

There is no revenge so complete as forgiveness- Josh Billings. Lack of forgiveness in marriage has led to many separations and divorces. A Lasting relationship demands that the couple learn the act of forgiveness. To forgive may not be the easiest thing to do but it certainly is the wisest thing to do.

Forgiveness is one of the pillars of a successful marriage. Understanding the power of forgiveness will empower you to face and conquer any challenge that comes your way in Marriage.

Reasons for forgiveness in marriage
1. Love
‘Tis the most tender part of love, each other to forgive – John Sheffield. If you really love your spouse you will forgive him or her. It is difficult for people to forgive when the love is not there or is waning down. Yes, some circumstances can be very trying but love will surely conquer. For instance, God shows and clearly proves His (own) love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us – (Romans 5:8, AMP)

2. Reciprocation
You are also liable to err too. You are to do to people (including your spouse) what you would want them to do to you. You may say that you will never do what he/she did but what if you do the one that he/ she will never do. That is why Christ said in Luke 6:37, “judge not, and you shall not be judged: condemn not, and you shall not be condemned; forgive, and you shall be forgiven” For every successful marriage, the act of forgiveness must be applied. Building the Right Foundation for Marriage

Marriage is one of the most beautiful things God made. It is one of the channels where we exercise our God-like nature of love and commitment to responsibilities. Successful marriages and healthy families are not wished to be but they are worked. And building the right foundation is most necessary if you want your marriage and family to stand the test of time.

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3, KJV). How successful you want your home to be determines how deep and strong your foundation should be. The challenges will certainly come but whether your family will overcome is determined by the type of foundation you have laid.

Jesus Christ is the most dependable, reliable and durable foundation. Building your marriage and family on Jesus is the wisest thing to do if you are going to enjoy a successful marriage and healthy family. God instituted marriage and therefore has the manual for building great ones.

Your relationship with Jesus determines the kind of relationship you will have with your spouse and children. When you know how to talk, relate or respond to Jesus, you will know how to do same with your family.
Many people desire successful marriages and healthy families but they are far from seeing it because they are far from Jesus. As you build your relationship with Jesus, you are building yourself to enjoy your marriage and a healthy family. Read more...
