Wisdom For Living-Consider The Poor

Do you consider the poor? Is giving to the poor part of your budget? This is an important wisdom for living. It is a wisdom key which many believing Christians are neglecting to their own detriment. This post expounds on considering the poor as wisdom for living.

Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed – Psalm 41:1-3 (NKJV).

He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have many curses – Proverbs 28:27 (NKJV).

He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given – Proverbs 19:17 (NKJV).

The poor are important to God. While He waits for them to learn and overcome poverty (Deuteronomy 8:18, Psalm 35:27), He also would want them to be well taken care of, because He cares for them. God will not come down in person to help the poor; He will need human beings to reach out to them. So, God is ready to bless anyone who will offer himself or herself as a channel of blessing to the poor.

Whoever considers the poor does so on behalf of the Almighty God and lends to Him, and He will repay back (Proverbs 19:17). Imagine when God is repaying back what He will give! You give with your little hand and God repays with His big hand! Awesome investment! Give to the poor and you will never know lack in your life (Proverbs 28:27). Read more...

Prepare To Be Used Of God

Are you a vessel of honour or dishonour? Are you prepared to be used for every good work? God is looking for those who are ready for the work He has at this time. However, many people are not consciously preparing for it. This post tells you about preparing to be used of God.

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work – 2 Timothy 2:20-21 (KJV).

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man – Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV).

Many believing Christians give their lives to Jesus Christ and stop there. They do not purge themselves nor prepare themselves for God to use them. They forget that the whole duty of man is to obey the commandments of God.

The Creator of the whole universe works on earth through men; some to honour and some to dishonor. What each one is used for is determined by the state of the individual. For believing Christians, God ordained them as vessels of honour, but each person ultimately decides what he or she is used for by the level of preparation he or she makes.

The kingdom of the Almighty is not meat and drink, but peace, righteousness and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). Some Christians want Christ and the devil in their lives at the same time, this however cannot be; you either serve the Lord or mammon (Matthew 6:24). You need to purge yourself of all carnality and build up yourself in your most holy faith (Jude 20). No one can do it for you! Read more...

Key to a Successful Christian Living on Earth

Do you want a successful life as a Christian here on earth? Many believing Christians want to live for Christ but they are preoccupied with weights. For you to live for Christ you must see yourself as a foreigner in this earth. This is the main key to successful Christian living. This post tells you the mindset you need to have that will help you live for Christ.

Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation – 1 Peter 2:11-12 (NKJV)

Who are you on earth?

A sojourner – a person who stays in a place temporary.
A pilgrim – a traveler in a foreign land.
An ambassador of Christ – official representative of Christ on earth.

The earth is not your home. Jesus has prepared a place for you  (John 14:2)and if you are really passing through this earth to heaven, to the mansion being prepared for you, then you must be like a sheep who follows only the instructions of the shepherd, the voice of a stranger will he not entertain (John 10:5). Jesus said that He is coming back to take you to your mansion (John 14:3), but He is not coming for anyhow person (Matthew 22:11-14). You must have your wedding garment on and Ephesians 5:27 describes what the garment should look like: without spot, wrinkle or blemish. For you to achieve this, you must always remember that you are a traveler staying temporarily on earth and so should ever be ready with your spotless garment for the signal that it is time, whether through home calling or through the second coming of Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 3:13).

How do you live?

Peter in 1 Peter 2:11 was pleading with Christians that as sojourners and pilgrims that they should keep away from fleshly lusts that war against their soul. Paul speaking in 2 Timothy 2: 4, admonishes that as a soldier of Christ you should not be entangled with the things of this world. Romans 8:7 and James 4:4 talk about carnal mind and friendship with the world being enmity with God. Read more...

God’s People Shall Pray And God Will Heal Their Land

Do you know that Christians will be held responsible for the state of their nations, whether good or bad? Man was given dominion to subdue the earth, which he lost after the fall of Adam, but was restored back through Jesus Christ and now in the hands of believing Christians. The exercise of this dominion or lack of its exercise determines the happenings around us. This post emphasizes the position of Christians in the affairs of their nations.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land – 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace – Jeremiah 29:7 (NKJV)

How much have you contributed to the state of your nation? Many Christians unfortunately join the world to criticize their leaders, they talk and talk and do not exercise their dominion over the situations on ground. Some have even worsened the situation by the words of their mouth – you shall have what you say – Mark 11:23.

Some Christians are even waiting on God to do something about the situations, while God is waiting on them to do something about them. The power and authority over circumstances have been handed over to the Christians for them to establish the will of God upon their nations.

God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that if His people who are called by His name will humble themselves,  seek Him in prayer, and turn from their wicked ways, He would hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land. God is waiting on the Christians to repent and pray for His intervention in their nations. He doesn’t need the whole nation to do that, he needs just His children. The question is, are you praying?

Also, God expects you as a foreigner in a nation to pray for the peace of that nation if you are to enjoy peace in it (Jeremiah 29:7). Furthermore, in 1 Timothy 2:1-3, the Lord admonished Christians to pray for those in authority so they can live a peaceable life, and He said it is good and acceptable in His sight.
The above scriptures make it clear that praying for your nation and leaders releases God’s blessing, intervention and peace on the land. Read more...
