8 Reasons Why You Should Pray As A Child Of God

What can prayer do in the life of a new believer in Christ? The place of prayer in the life of a child of God cannot be over-emphasized. This is because it's the live-wire of a Christian. For you need an open line to reach your Father at any time and anywhere. This post gives you 8 reasons why you should pray as a child of God

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

- Matthew 6:6 (NKJV, emphasis is mine).

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

- Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV).

Pray without ceasing.

- I Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV).

Introduction

Prayer is a channel of communication with the Father and not optional for any child of God. This, we can deduce from Christ's instructions to the disciples in Matthew 6:6. For He said to them, “when you pray”, not “if you pray”. As such, it's expected for every believing Christian to pray. And Paul even admonished that we should pray without ceasing. Furthermore, God encouraged us to pray to Him, for He has great and mighty things to share with us. Therefore, the place of prayer in the life of a child of God is paramount to his or her growth. And it's important for his or her success in the kingdom.

8 Reasons Why You Should Pray As A Child Of God

1. Fellowship

Every parent desires to fellowship with the children and so does God the Father. This we see in the book of Genesis, where He would go down to fellowship with Adam and Eve. Truly, the Lord desires to fellowship with us that He may give us His nature and His great blessings. Also, in His presence, there is fullness of joy and at His right hand pleasures forevermore. So, when you pray, you get to talk to God as you would your earthly father. Read more...

The Process Of God For Putting On The New Man After Salvation

What else are you to do now you're saved? As a believing Christian, you need to know that old things are passed away and that all things have become new in your life. However, this can only manifest physically when you put off the old man and put on the new man. This post gives you the process of God for putting on the new man after salvation

But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

- Ephesians 4:20-24 NKJV

Introduction

Every day, you have opportunities to behave like your old self or to behave like a true child of God you have become. So, you have to consciously decide who to obey, whether to obey your old master the devil or obey God your new Master. However, knowing whom you have given your life to will help you to choose well. Therefore put your trust in Christ Jesus, your Saviour.

The Truth Is In Christ

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. So, the truth is in Him, and it's revealed in His life and personified in Him. And the truth is in the word of God, for Jesus is the Word. So, following Christ's instructions ensures that you walk in the truth too.

Hear And Be Taught By Him The Word

When you listen to God's word, you're listening to Jesus. And in the word, Christ teaches you the way of life of the kingdom of God. Also, in the word, He tells you the truth that the enemy will not want you to know. This is because knowing the truth will make you free (John 8:32) from the bondage and oppression of the devil. This covers any area of your life. Read more...

5 Reasons Why You Should Feed On The Word Of God

Now that you're saved, what next? Truly, it's one thing to get saved, and another thing to remain saved till the end. This means that once saved doesn't mean always saved. As such, there is a need for you to do whatever it takes to remain in the Lord till the end. And the first thing to do is to feed and feed on the word of God.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness - 2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV).

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth - 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV).

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope - Romans 15:4 (NKJV).

Introduction

Every child must feed to be alive and grow; so also, a new believer needs to feed. Furthermore, as it's your spirit that is born again, the food of the spirit is the word of God. You need to feed on God's word to live and grow as a believing Christian. Therefore, for you not to die again spiritually and return to your old self, you need to pay attention to the word of God.

Why You Should Feed On The Word

1. God's manual for profitable living

The word of God is the creator's manual to human beings living on earth. So, when you adhere to its instructions, you end up living a successful and victorious life. For it's profitable for instruction, the conviction of sin, correction, and training in right living in line with God's will. And as long as you obey and do what it says, you will not miss it in life

Significant Things That Happened To You At Salvation

What actually happened when you gave your life to Christ? An understanding of this will enable you to assume your position in Christ. And it will also cause you to exercise your authority, and enjoy your inheritance in Christ. So, this post will tell you significant things that happened to you at salvation.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him- 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV).

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness - I John 1:7-9 (NKJV).

Introduction

Salvation is God's gift to mankind. And we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). And your salvation is in the name of Jesus; for there is no other name given under heaven by which man can be saved (Acts 4:12). But then, what happened when you gave your life to Christ and what should you expect in life?

Significant Things That Happened To You At Salvation

1. All your sins are forgiven and thrown into the sea of forgetfulness

On the cross, Christ bore all your sins and paid the price for your redemption with His blood. Your sins are forgiven, and as the scripture says in Micah 7:19, your sins are thrown into the sea. Such that when you repented of your sins and asked for forgiveness, God forgave and forgot them.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more - Hebrews 8:12 (NKJV).

He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea - Micah 7:19 (NKJV). Read more...
