Why Offences Must Be Wisely Handled

Have you ever woken up excited, ready for a beautiful day, only to be offended by the first person you met? Offences when not wisely handled, causes more havoc than you can ever bargain for. A word of wisdom is to be wise when dealing with any offence. This article explains why you should not allow offences to affect you in anyway.

Woe unto the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! – Matthew 18:7 (KJV)

Offences cannot be avoided. You cannot absolutely predict or control the actions of another person. But you can control how his or her actions affect you. You have the choice to exercise the power over your joy and peace or give to another person to exercise over you.

Why offences must come

  •  The enemy, the devil, cannot operate in a joyous atmosphere. That is why we are admonished to rejoice in the Lord again and again by Paul in Philippians 4:4. The devil sends the offence to create a conducive atmosphere to oppress you and sometimes another person(s)

  •  For your promotion. There can never be a testimony without a test. You have to prove that you are ready and qualified for the next level of blessing.

It is word of wisdom to respond amicably to offences. Some offences are intended while many are not. Whatever the case may be, you should not allow it to go beyond that incident and moment. Read more...

7 Steps To Increase The Peace Of God

Do you want to live a fulfilling life? The peace of God is a catalyst for a fulfilled life. The more of God’s peace you experience, the more your life is fulfilling. This article gives the steps to increase the peace of the Lord.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord – 2 Peter 1:2 (KJV)
There is no peace, says my God, for the wicked – Isaiah 57:21 (AMP)

Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever] – Romans 8:6 (AMP)

The 7 steps

1.       Be born again
Receiving Jesus as your lord and saviour is the first and foremost step to experience the peace of God in your life. Jesus is the carrier of God’s peace. Therefore, you can only have the peace of the Lord when you have Jesus.

2.       Stand on your justified position
When you gave your life to Jesus, you were justified by faith. You were acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God through faith. As a member of God’s family it is your inheritance to enjoy the peace of the Lord. You need to stand in this exalted position in Christ and take possession of what belongs to you by faith.

3.       Be spiritually minded
The spiritual mind is life and peace both now and forever. But the mind of the flesh goes along with it the miseries associated with sin, including lack of peace and ultimately death.  Therefore, to live a fulfilling life you need to mind the things of God.  Read more...

If I go for this peace you are talking about, will it solve all my problems? Which problems will it solve? This article lists seven benefits of this peace plus 1 more.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid - John 14:27 (KJV)

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:7 (KJV)

The Benefits of the God-kind of peace

1.       Good health - Many people are sick, some are hospitalized because they lacked peace of mind. This peace will give you a rested soul and body. It will keep away worries, stress, depression, high blood pressure and heart related diseases. This reminds me of my mother who thought it was her duty to worry over things. Unfortunately, she developed high blood pressure and died earlier than she should. We really miss her.

2.       Positive mindset – People who enjoy peace are positive minded. They expect the best of thimngs.  They think positively of people and situations. They don’t get worked up, thinking that things will certainly go wrong.

3.       Hope – The peaceful are hopeful and the hopeful are peaceful. When you are hopeless, you will become helpless. The peace of God is a powerful ingredient in building up your hope. You will know

that everything will work out for your good and you will expect it to be so. Read more...
