Are You Hearing Moses And The Prophets?

Are you listening to Moses or the Prophets? If you are not, then you will not listen to any once dead person. Many people think that if someone comes from hell or heaven to preach to them they will hear but the truth is that they will also not listen to them.  God has provided all you need to be with him where He is. This post emphasizes the need to hear Moses and the Prophets.

Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, for I have Five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.'  Luke 16:27-31(NKJV)

The rich man in Luke 16:19-31, didn’t want his brothers to come and meet him in hell and suffer the torments he was suffering (very thoughtful and loving of him I want say). So, he requested that Abraham should send Lazarus to testify to them. In concluding their conversation, Abraham told him that if his brothers would not hear Moses and the prophets, they would not hear anyone that rises from the dead.

Moses represents the law of God, God’s instructions, the scriptures or the word of God. And the prophets are God’s truly anointed servants and mouthpieces of God. Abraham is saying, you have the word of God and the prophets for you to escape torments in hell. The question really is “are you hearing them, are you listening and adhering to their instructions?” It is not enough to have the bible, read it and pray it (which are all very very important), it most crucial that you obey it. Obedience is the proof of your love and faith in God (John 14:15, 21). Read more...

Continuous Fervent Prayer Brings About Change

Do you desire a change in your life or in that disturbing issue before you? Or are you wondering why you haven’t seen a change since you prayed? The solution lies in continuous fervent prayer, which always brings about change.

So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent prayer for him was persistently made to God by the church (assembly) – Acts 12:5 (AMP)

Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? Luke 18:6-8 (NKJV, emphasis mine)

Many people want change but they do not want to lift a finger in order to see the change. They want it all ready-made and delivered to them like Pizza. However, in spiritual things, the mode of operation is different. Everyone needs to work out his salvation with fear and trembling, Philippians 2:12. And continuous fervent prayer is one of the ways of doing so.

Whatever changes you may desire in your life: spiritual, financial, emotional, physical, etc., you can achieve them by continuously praying about it until you receive your result. Answered prayer is possible if you don’t quit.

The enemy may say, “I am not letting go of your goods”, then it’s time for you to tell him boldly, “neither will I allow you to keep it” by your actions which include continuous fervent prayer. When you persist, he will let go like he let go of Jesus after tempting Him for a while, Luke 4:1-12. No matter how long it may take, remain dogged. He can never withstand a persistent prayer filled with faith.

Many people lose their victory at the nick of time just because they quit believing and praying. Jesus says there is salvation for those who endure till the end. Your end may be NOW! Yes, you have been on it for a long time, your change may be now. Joy comes in the morning, and so as long there is breath in your nostril, your morning is coming. Prayer brings about change. Prayer: The Missing Link II

Hi Jesus loves you.
Here is the concluding part of this article by my mentor Pastor (Mrs) Oyedepo.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having discussed the importance of a living family altar in our homes in part I of this teaching, I would like to go further in this write-up to examine the blessings that accrue to us when we give prayer its rightful place.

Benefits Of Family Altar

When altars were raised in the Bible in the worship of God, the glory of God descended and it commanded the miraculous. When Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal in the book of 1kings 18: 20-39, he too built an altar and called on the name of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Lord answered by fire and the name of the Lord was magnified. It is also written in the scriptures that:

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Mathew 18:20).

Therefore the number one benefit of the family altar is that it brings down the presence of God in your home. What a blessing! Having God’s perpetual presence should be the ultimate quest of every Christian home, because think of it; what can we do without His presence? Absolutely nothing! So when you, too, allow your family to raise an altar of worship unto the Lord, you will discover that the Prince of Peace will tabernacle in your home and you will begin to enjoy the blessings of God’s presence in a new dimension.
Read Psalm 114. I want you to take time to read this passage and you will get a clear picture of what you stand to enjoy in His presence. Read more...

Prayer: The Missing Link I

As we draw close to the end of this wonderful year and the beginning of a new year, there is need for us to look into the place of prayer in the family. A man of God said that what you are experiencing today is a result of prayers said or not said yesterday(s). So, you determine the future of your family by your prayers today. Today, I would like to share an article from one of my mentors (Pastor Faith Oyedepo) on Family Altar. Enjoy and be blessed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In today’s fast-paced world, where men and women are busy working round the clock to make ends meet, most Christian homes have long forgotten this integral part of the family foundation, which is the family altar.

What is family altar?

The word family altar simply means a time when all family members gather together in worship, sharing of the Word and in prayer. One of the gimmicks of the devil to attack homes today is to successfully lure them away from praying together, and before you know what is happening, the family that was once happy and united, gradually falls apart. No wonder a wise man said ‘the family that prays together stays together.’ No doubt, prayer is one of the foundation stones of a happy family. Therefore, watch out so that your foundation does not get out of place.

The Bible says:
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3).
I would like to share with you the purposes of the family altar. Myles Munroe said, “If the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable,” I agree absolutely.
