Your Choices Decide Your Tomorrow Today

Your choices today decide your tomorrow. You make tomorrow today. For every choice you make today, tomorrow will tell the consequences of those choices.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;  – Deut 30:19 (NKJV).

God has a great future for every person He created, that includes you. God says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (NLT) No one is supposed to be exempted from God’s glorious plan. But through our choices we knock off ourselves from His plan for mankind.

Your choices dictate the steps you take: steps to a glorious or destructive future. You make tomorrow today. Many people for few moments of pleasure, gratification, fame, power, recognition, etc, have destroyed their tomorrow today.  For every act, consider the consequences of choices.

Esau sold out his birthright just to satisfy his hunger momentarily, Gen 25:29-34. He could have waited few more minutes to prepare his own meal. Besides, missing one meal wouldn’t have killed him as he said. Consequently, when he sought his birthright back, even with tears, he couldn’t get it back. Gen 27:34-38. It was too late! The Missing Link to Our Peace and Joy

Are you having a challenge maintaining peace and joy within and around you? Have you been searching for peace? Maybe it is because you are looking for peace and joy in the wrong place! One sure place to secure peace and joy is in your fellowship with God. Everlasting peace can only be found with the prince of Peace (Jesus Christ)

Many people think that money can give them peace and joy. Some think that power will do so, while some think that getting married is the answer. Yet others think that success in their career or business will certainly make their lives peaceful and joyful. The list can go on and on. But many people have discovered that having all these still won’t give them what they deeply desire: peace that passes all understanding and Christian joy full of glory.

“And he said unto them, take heed and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things he possesseth” - Luke 12:15 (KJV, emphasis mine).

What you possess may give you temporary peace or joy, but to enjoy ceaseless flow of these two you need to get to the source, which is God. And fellowship with God will deliver them into your life

Now, I know you are wondering how you are to fellowship with God. It is so simple that many people don’t pay attention to it. To fellowship with God is to spend time in His word and prayer. You may say you are too busy to do so, but the truth is that you can always make out time for anything, including bible study and prayer. Which one is better, to build a strong relationship with God when there is no crisis or to seek Him during crisis? I certainly will choose the first option. Read  more...

How to Overcome Sudden Fear Attack

Have you ever been attacked by a sudden fear, where all manner of negative thoughts are flooding your mind and you feel the worst is about to happen? Fear attack is common but how you respond to it determines how long it will linger in your mind and the extent of its effect on you. And for you to respond positively, you need to understand how to overcome fear.

One thing you must assure yourself, to be able to overcome fears, is that fear is not of God. God cannot give you what He doesn’t have. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Fear is of the devil and is the opposite of faith. When faith comes in, fear disappears.

Another thing you must assure yourself is that you can overcome any sudden fear. Fear no more has any power over you except the one you give it. Romans 8:15 (KJV) says, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear...” Also Proverbs 3:25 (AMP) says, “BE not afraid of sudden terror...” As a child of God, you have the power to overcome fear.

Now, how do you overcome sudden fear attacks?
  • Apply the break to your thoughts.
First thing you need to do is to consciously stop the fearful thoughts from flooding through your mind. Say NO to the devil and refuse to think on those negative thoughts. 2 Corinthians 10:5 encourages us to cast down imaginations, and everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
