All These Things Shall Be Added To You

Do you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness before every other thing? If so, then all these things shall be added to you. This is what Christ said, and He is a covenant-keeping God.  For, the Lord says what He means and means what He says.

Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you - Matthew 6:31-33 (NKJV).

Introduction

God has no challenge granting your heart desires. And He actually knows that you have need of those things. However, He doesn't want you to seek those things first, but the kingdom of God and His righteousness. For when you do as He instructed, automatically, the things you desire are added to you.

All These Things Shall Be Added To You

Truly, God is a covenant-keeping God. So, once you fulfil your part, His part is automatically fulfilled too. This is why He said you should not worry about what to eat, drink or wear, and focus on God's kingdom. Unfortunately, many people lack understanding of this, and so spend all their time seeking the wrong things; yet, they are never satisfied. And 'all these things' include all those things you desire, there are no exceptions. In addition, you're not to ponder on how the Lord will do it, yours is to just believe and it's done.

Scriptural Examples

There are many examples in the scriptures of people who engaged in kingdom service and received their heart desires. I will share two here. Read more...

Seek The Kingdom Of God As A Lifestyle

How often are you to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness? Truly, some Christians see seeking God and doing His will as a task. And as long as they see it that way, they will always find it burdensome to obey. Yet, the Lord says that His commandments are not grievous (1 John 5:3). The post emphasizes that we are to seek the Kingdom of God as a lifestyle.

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain - Philippians 1:21 (NKJV).

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me - Matthew 16:24 (NLT).

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death - Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV).

Introduction

Christianity is not a religion per se, it's a way of life; it's living as Christ did on earth. And the Lord's way of life was what gave Him victory over the enemy and success in His mission on earth. As such living like Christ will surely give you victory over the enemy and success in life. And Jesus is the one who said we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing will be added to us. Therefore seeking God's kingdom should be our lifestyle.

Why A Lifestyle

As a child of God, to live is to live for Christ. So, every minute we spend on earth is to do things that will always please the Lord. Also, as followers of Jesus, we're to give up our own way to follow His way. And the truth remains that Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. So, we can never miss the way following Him. And any way outside Christ may seem to be the way, but the end is the way of death. Read more...
