The Importance of Prayer In The New Year.

Do you have a success plan for the New Year? What important steps are you taking towards achieving your goals? The fulfillment of your plans largely will depend on the steps you will take from now on. This post states the importance of prayer in your pursuit of success in the year.

Pray without ceasing – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV)

So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” – Mark 9:29 (NKJV)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places – Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV).

Introduction

Every believing Christian ought to be very fervent in prayer if he is to be successful in life.

A man of God said that where we are today is a result of prayers we prayed or didn’t pray yesterday, and where we will be tomorrow will be a result of prayers we will pray or not pray today.

Prayer is so important that God said we should pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Also, the apostles emphasized the place of prayer in any success plan by giving themselves to prayer and the ministry of the word. This they did rather than concerning themselves with the issues of serving the table (Acts 6:2-4).

The Example Of Christ

Also, our Lord Jesus buttressed the importance of prayer in a believing Christian’s life by His own prayer life. Though very busy serving God, the father, He always would go away from the people to go and pray. Many times He prayed all night, for example when He was to choose His twelve disciples, He prayed all night before doing so (Luke 6:12-16). Furthermore, Jesus told us that there are certain issues that will not just go away except with prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). This makes prayer an important key in dealing with the issues of life. O Lord! A Word For The Year.

Lord, what are you saying to me for this year? Do you have an idea of what this year has in store for you? There are voices and words everywhere but God's voice and words make a great difference. This post tells you to hear God's word for the year.

I will stand on my watch, and set me on the tower, and will watch to see what he will say to me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved - Habakkuk 2:1 (KJV)

I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace to his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly - Psalm 85:8 (KJV)

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beats the air - 1 Corinthians 9:26 (KJV)

Introduction

Everyone has spoken a word to you concerning this year: your spouse, parents, children, pastor, boss, biz partner, colleague, and neighbour. But have you heard from God? Do you have a word for the year from God?

God's word will always override the words of men anytime and anywhere if you believe it. But how will you believe it if you don't know it? God surely has a word for you this year; they are thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope - Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV).

God's Word Is Sure

People may have spoken good or bad words to you but God's word shall stand, (Isaiah 14:24). This is why you need to receive God's word so you can uphold it above every other word you may hear or have heard. Read more...

Plan And Prepare For The New Year

What desires for the year do you have presently? How are you preparing for the year? Many times people end up regretting at the end of the year, but this shouldn't be. You can secure your New Year long before it hits up. This post encourages you not to flow with the New Year carelessly as in other years, but to plan and prepare for the New Year.

And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD’s Passover - Exodus 12:11 (NKJV).

And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry - Matthew 4:2 (NKJV). Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region - Luke 4:14 (NKJV).

Introduction

Your preparation determines your speed and how far you will go in possessing all that is ordained for you in the New Year. And what you do with your today determines what your tomorrow will be. So, YOU are the determining factor of your future. Surely, God is constant; He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever - Hebrews 13:8.

Preparation Is Important

When God wanted to move the Israelites to the Promised Land, He instructed them to eat the Passover meal in a haste. And they were all dressed, ready to go (Exodus 12:11). This, I believe is symbolic. Therefore, you are to be all prepared and in a haste to possess entirely what God has promised you in His word or personally. Read more...
