The Best Entrance To A New Year

There are many gates to the New Year, which one have you decided to use? People, things, and circumstances often determine the decisions or the steps people take in life. However, none of the above can force you to choose their way, you are the one to finally make the decision and implement it. This post tells you the best entrance to the New Year.

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death – Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV).

And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts – Revelation 21:6 (NKJV).

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it – Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV).

Introduction

There are many wide-open gates to the New Year. These include the ungrateful gate, the murmuring and complaining gate, the offence gate, the frustrated gate, the depressed gate, the disappointed gate, etc. However, there is also the narrow gate of praise and thanksgiving. so, which one are you going to go through into the New Year?

You may have ‘genuine reasons’ why you should go through one of the wide gates, but is it the best entrance to use? Truly, they may seem right to you, but the end is the way of destruction and death (Proverbs 14:12, Matthew 7:13). Though the narrow gate of praise and thanksgiving may be difficult considering your genuine reasons, it leads to life (Matthew 7:14). So, be among the few who will find it. Read more...

How To Seek First The Kingdom Of God And His Righteousness

It's one thing to know why you should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. And yet, another thing to know how to do so. However, the good news is that the Lord cannot ask us to do what is impossible. So, this post tells us how to seek first the Lord's kingdom.

Introduction

Many Christians find it difficult to put God first in their lives. This is because they haven't learned how to do so. And the scripture says that we can do nothing without Christ. And another scripture says that it's not by our power or might but by the Spirit of God that we can do anything. Therefore, the Lord will work in you to do His will.

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing - John 15:5 (NKJV).

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts - Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV).

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure - Philippians 2:13 (NKJV).

How To Seek First The Kingdom Of God And His Righteousness

1. Be Born again - empowered by the Holy Spirit

The first place to start is to give your life to Jesus and make Him your Saviour and the Lord of your life. This is what it means to be born again. And it's important you do this first because you can't seek the kingdom of God when you're in the devil's kingdom. Also, when you receive Christ, you receive the Holy Spirit too, who empowers you to do the will of God.

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” - John 3:3, 5 (NKJV). Read more...
