How To Effectively Use Your Tongue As God Designed It

Is your tongue a blessing to you? The tongue is truly a creative tool and has the power to deliver your blessings to you. However, you're the one that decides what it actually delivers to you. So, this post tells you how to effectively use your tongue as God designed it.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success - Joshua 1:8 (NKJV).

The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue - 2 Samuel 23:2 (NKJV).

Introduction

Many people desire to enjoy life but life keeps giving them the very thing they don't want. Unfortunately, most of the time, they are the cause of their challenges. This is because they have been saying the wrong things. When you speak the enemy's words, then you will have his harvests. And truly, you will have what you say. So, there is a need to learn how to effectively use your tongue.

God designed our tongues to create things as He did. And He gave us the mouth which our enemies cannot gainsay nor resist. However, until we choose to align with His instructions, we will not realize our desires. Also, we will not defeat our enemies.

How To Effectively Use Your Tongue As God Designed It.

1. Let the word of God be in your mouth

As God told Joshua, the word of the Lord is not to depart from your mouth if you want to prosper and have good success. This is because God's word created and maintains the universe. So, for you to operate in this world effectively, you must align and adhere to the instructions in the word. And anything outside the Creator's word will produce either fake or abnormal products.

Also, everything in the world listens and obeys the word of God. So, have it on your tongue, declare it at all times and you will always get things to obey you. As such, let God's word be your language at all times, and all things will be at your command. Read more...

How Our Words Affect The Lives Of Others

Have you ever been commended and how did you feel? Have you ever been insulted and how did you feel? Our words certainly affect others, either for good or bad effects. We can either, build or destroy, gather or scatter, lift or pull down, comfort or discomfort with our words.

Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks - Matthew 12:34 (NKJV).

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers - Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV).

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness - Proverbs 15:1-2 (NKJV).

Introduction

Spoken or written words are vehicles for communication. Communication is the art of passing across news, information, feeling or whatever, to somebody else. Therefore whatever we want to pass across to a person (hatred, love, joy, condemnation, honour, etc.) determines the effect it will have on the person. Also, the effects of our words are determined by our state of mind towards the person at a given point in time. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, and soft words will always turn away anger. So if you are bitter towards a person, your words will be bitter words and it will have a negative effect on the person. But if you tender in your words, you will turn away anger.

People Are Products Of The Words They Heard Or Read.

They cannot go beyond the words spoken in their lives. A child who heard encouraging, loving, and positive words will grow up being self-confident and successful in life. But a child who heard only negative words of condemnation will grow up being emotionally destabilized. The person’s life can only be changed if he chooses to re-feed himself with positive and encouraging words. And the scripture says that we should take heed to what we hear.

Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear... (Mark 4:24, NKJV)

Dr. Ben Carson, Sr., M.D. (an American neurosurgeon and the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins) is a typical example of the effects of words on a person. Sonya Carson (Dr. Carson’s mother) chose to shower her kids, Ben inclusive, with encouraging words in spite of their conditions at that time. And today her son is a product sort after greatly and a person whose story inspires others.

Words Can Either Lead A Person On The Right Or Negative Path.

Many have gone astray, are on the streets, or even in prison because some person(s) were not careful in their choice of words towards them, whereas, there are some persons who will attribute their success in life to the positive words spoken to them earlier in life by some person(s). So, like sheep, we should follow voices that will lead us aright and not strange voices. Read more...

How To Effectively Speak With God And Man And Get Answers

How good is your conversation with God and with a man? Effective communication is a vital tool in building good relationships. Truly, lasting relationships are built on the right words said at the right times. And speaking with God and man is an important aspect of a man's life. This post gives how to effectively speak with God and man and get answers.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart - Jeremiah 29:12-13 (NKJV).

Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak] - Ephesians 4:29 (AMP).

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light - Matthew 11:29-30 (NKJV, emphasis mine).

Introduction

Communication is an integral part of our everyday activities. And in addition to talking with men, we Christians also talk with God Almighty. Generally, to talk is easy, but knowing to edify our hearers is another thing entirely. However, if you know how to talk to God, you will know how to talk to man. And Christ said we should learn from Him. So, as you learn to effectively communicate with God, you will discover that you also, can effectively communicate with men. And one important thing about communicating with God and man is to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and to wrath. Again, communication is a two-way process; you speak and God speaks. So, ensure you listen to hear the Lord speak to you too. And learn how to effectively speak with God and man and get answers.

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath - James 1:19 (NKJV)

Speaking With God

God desires to talk with you, and He has given us the way to Him; however, you have to take the first steps towards Him. And He said that when we call on Him, He will listen, but you have to do it with all your heart.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart - Jeremiah 29:12-13 (NKJV). Read more...

Call Forth Your Harvest On Every Seed Sown

Are you sowing and not receiving your harvest? The challenge may be that you are not deliberately harvesting the fruits from your seeds sown. Every seed sown on the right soil that is watered well brings forth fruit and must be harvested; otherwise it will remain or be spoilt in the field. This post encourages you to call forth your harvest on all your sown seeds.

While the earth remains, seed-time and harvest, Cold and heat, winter and summer, And day and night shall not cease - Genesis 8:22 (NKJV).

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again - Luke 6:38 (KJV).

A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled - Proverbs 18:20 (NKJV).

Introduction

Many Christians are good sowers but poor reapers. They just keep sowing and not reaping, they get only droplets and not the showers. Thank God for His mercies. You have to consciously harvest your fruits just like you consciously sow your seeds! The farmer sows his seeds and goes back to harvest his fruits. So, you should sow and reap your fruits.

Were your seeds accepted? Did you give willingly (2 Corinthians 8:12), cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7) and in love (1 Corinthians 13:3)? If yes, then you have fruits to harvest. It's time to call forth your harvest. You are the one delaying your harvest. As long as the earth remains, seed-time and harvest shall not cease (Genesis 8:22). God promises that when you give, it will be given back to you by men, in pressed down, shaken together and running over measure according to what you gave (Luke 6:38).

HOW DO YOU CALL FORTH YOUR HARVEST?

1. Thank God for the grace, privilege and opportunity to give (2 Corinthians 8:1-7)

The Lord gives the grace to give and so should not be taken for granted. Many people have not received this grace though it's available to all and so find it difficult to give. You should always be grateful to God for this grace. Those who don't have this grace can't speak of supernatural abundance, rather poverty is near them (Proverbs 11:24). Read more...
