How To Build Lasting Love In Your Marriage

Do you desire to have lasting love in your marriage? This is surely the wish of many Christian couples, however many of their relationships are either struggling or collapsing. This is not God’s desire for any of His children. This post aims at enlightening you on how to build lasting love in your marriage.

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love - I John 4:8 (NKJV).

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away - I Corinthians 13:4-8 (NKJV).

Marriage is a spiritual institution and so should not be entered into or followed in the flesh, you need the help of God. Marriage is more than mere "I DO" though it's part of the beginning. It is the bonding of a woman and a man spirit, soul and body. That's why if you have sex, which is of marriage, with a harlot you become one with her and reap the consequences of it, the wrath of God.

For one to have lasting love in marriage you must know LOVE Himself. God is love (I John 4:8)! How much you know Him determines how lasting your love for your spouse will be. Your love for God determines how much you will love your spouse. I'm not talking about Eros (Love of the body or sexual desire) or Philia (Brotherly love), though you need them in marriage. I am talking about Agape love if lasting love is what you desire to have in your marriage. You need to love your spouse with the love of God. It will always pass the test of time. Others may fail but not Agape love.

What is God's kind of love?

The scriptures in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 give a description of what God’s love is. This is how to love your spouse, no conditions attached. That was how Jesus loved us that while we were yet sinners He died for us (Romans 5:8). God expects us to love our spouses like Jesus loves us. You are to love him or her, not because he or she loves you but essentially because you love God and you want to please Him. Otherwise, if you ever think that your spouse doesn't love you again, you may quit loving him. Read more...

Considering The Faith Walk Of Abraham-The Secret Of His Success In Life

Do you desire to have the kind of faith that Abraham had? Every believing Christian desires to walk in faith the way Abraham did so as to enjoy the help and interventions of God. However, many Christians are still struggling with how to walk by faith. This post aims at showing how Abraham walked by faith and got his answers.

(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform - Romans 4:17-21 (NKJV).

Who Is Abraham?
Abraham was a man like you and me, born of a man and a woman. However, he was singled out from other people because he chose to believe in God who made him and to totally obey His instructions, whether it made sense to him or not. He chose to put God and His words above every other thing, including his promised son Isaac. His walk with God was the kind of relationship the Lord wants to have with every human being; Abraham was called a friend of God (James 2:23). They had a close relationship such that God couldn't destroy Sodom and Gomorrah without telling Abraham. Abraham freely interceded for these nations, and God was ready to spare them should He find ten righteous men in the nations just as Abraham advocated for them (Genesis 19:17-32). Christians call him "the father of faith" because of his level of faith in Almighty God. He never drew back on his faith.

His Major Challenge in Life
Abraham had his own share of challenges in life as a believer living on earth. One major one was his wife's inability to conceive and bear children. He was already married to Sarah, his wife, by the time his recorded walk with God began; therefore, he was a believer in God who had a wife who couldn't give birth to children. After many years God made Abraham a celebrated wealthy man; however, he still didn't have a child. One day, God visited him and promised him that he would have a son! However, it took 25 years more before this became a reality. In the 25 years of waiting, Abraham believed throughout that the Lord will do exactly what He had promised. Surely, according to his faith, Isaac was born to him by Sarah at an age that is considered by nature impossible to bear children. Read more...

The Rain Of God's Word Is Never Impotent

How much of God's word have you put inside of you today? The amount of rainfall that the earth receives determines how watered it will be and its ability to bear fruits. The ground that receives enough rainfall is sure to produce abundantly. This post is aimed at charging you to drink more of the word of God for your desired turnaround.

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it - Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV).

Droplets of the word of the Lord cannot be compared with the rain of it in any way. The rain of God's word makes a great difference in the pursuit of your desired turnaround. The more of the word of God within you the more you build your faith, and the just shall live by faith. Therefore, go for more of the word.

The Almighty God is not a careless talker; every word that comes out of His mouth is for a purpose and is well targeted. When He speaks, He sends His word on an errand. The word is not permitted to return to Him until it accomplishes what He pleases and prospers in the thing for which He sent it. It must return to give a pleasing account, with the Lord's desired results.

Therefore, next time you hear the word of God, know that it is on an errand and it must not return void. The question is, "will you receive it for yourself and/or be a channel through which God will send it to its target?" Who are the targets? Anyone that receives the word is a target and will get its blessings; for as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become sons of God (John 1:12).

THE POTENCY OF THE RAIN OF GOD'S WORD
The word of the Lord is never impotent. The word of God is quick and powerful, able to handle all impossible cases and discern the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Read more...
