Day By Day Our Daily Bread

How far has your anxiety solved any problem for you? Many people keep themselves busy worrying about tomorrow when God wants us to live by the day. The day has enough troubles of its own. This post encourages you to believe God for the day and allow tomorrow to worry about its own things.

Give us day by day our daily bread - Luke 11:3 (NKJV).

Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble - Matthew 6:31-34 (NKJV).

Many people are so worried about tomorrow that they don't even enjoy today. When today goes, it is gone forever. God wants you to live your life one day at a time. When Jesus taught the disciples how to pray, they were to ask God to give them day by day their daily bread. In Exodus 16, God demonstrated His ability to provide for His people daily. When the people worried about tomorrow by their action, God was not happy with them. The Lord knows that you have need of what to eat, drink and wear. However, He wants you to focus on your service unto Him and for you to believe Him to provide your daily needs. He has never failed, He won't start with you.

Feed and load yourself with God's word and understand Him as the Jehovah Jireh, believe Him to manifest His name in your life and supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19). Thank the Lord daily for the benefits which He daily loads you with (Psalm 68:19) and you will see more of the benefits. Read more...

How To Hear From God

How do I hear from God? How do I ensure I don’t follow the wrong voice? There are many voices out there seeking to be obeyed. Therefore learning how to hear from God, thereby differentiating Him from others is very important for your Christian walk with God. This article gives helpful tips on hearing from God.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me - John 10:27 (KJV)

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know  – Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV).

You shall have a song as in the night when a holy festival is kept, and gladness of heart as when one goes with a flute, to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel. The Lord will cause His glorious voice to be heard, and show the descent of His arm, with the indignation of His anger and the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, tempest, and hailstones – Isaiah 30:29-30 (NKJV).

God certainly speaks and He desires to talk to His children as a father would to his children. A walk with God without knowing how to hear from God is like travelling to an unknown area without direction. Hearing from God makes your Christian walk easier, interesting and enjoyable. It guarantees peace, victory and success in life, etc in a shorter period of time.

Furthermore, being able to hear from God helps you to avoid the pitfalls of life.  It protects you from deceit and dangers set by the enemy. The Christian faith is a struggle without the ability to hear from our father and maker.

The Greatest Mentor That Ever Lived

Who is your greatest mentor? Mentors help you to build and utilize the gifts and potentials within you to make a difference in your life and in the lives of others around you. There are many mentors available but one is the greatest of them all. This post reveals the best mentor you should have in life.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye - Psalms 32:8 (NKJV).

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light - Matthew 11:29-30 (NKJV).

There are many mentors all around you, moulding your life consciously or unconsciously everyday. These mentors determine what you turn out to be: a success or a failure, a local champion or an international champion, a nonentity or a celebrity. People tend to search for mentors who will affect their lives positively and help them to achieve their goals and dreams in life. Nevertheless, all of them are not on the same level. Some are greater or better than others in relation to a particular individual or group and their needs. However, there is a mentor who is the greatest of them all. No matter who you may be, or your own peculiarities, He is the best mentor for you. His name is Jesus Christ.

Why is Jesus the greatest mentor?

1. He is your creator - Jeremiah 1:5
Jesus, as your creator (John 1:1-3), knows the purpose for which you are made and so, is in the best position to mentor you. He knows the potentials you carry and how best to harness them.

2. He has an awesome record of success as a human being - Hebrews 12:1-3
The Lord came with a purpose, which He pursued and completed successfully, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. He encountered a lot of oppositions but He overcame them all unto victory, and so your ideal model.

3. He has an unbeatable record of successful mentorship - Acts 4:13
All His disciples that successfully went through His mentorship manifested the same authority and power. Their exploits could only be traced to their association with Christ. They followed His instructions, and they soared higher than their fellow-men. Read more...
