Proofs That You Love God

How sure are you of your love for God? Many Christians claim to love God but their words and actions say otherwise. However, it is not difficult to tell those who truly love God because as the scripture says in Matthew 7:20, "by their fruits you shall know them." This post gives you the signs that show that a particular person truly loves God.

These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me - Matthew 15:8 (NKJV).

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him - John 14:21 (NKJV).

God knows those who truly love Him and it's also evident to people if they care to watch out for the words and actions of the person(s) in question. Love is a visible virtue that is expressed in words and actions.
This post came as a result of a teaching from Pastor David Oyedepo Jr.

PROOFS OF YOUR LOVE FOR GOD

If you love God, you will:

1. Love His words and keep them - John 14:21
You will be delighted to hear the word of God and do them. Obeying God will be a thing of joy; you will always want to please Him. It will not be a struggle for you to obey Him.

2. Seek His kingdom - Matthew 6:33
You will find yourself putting God first in everything you do. You will have passion for the affairs of the kingdom, like soul winning and intercessory prayers. You will be delighted to be involved in any activities that bring glory to God.

3. Love His house - Psalm 122:1
Just like you look forward to visiting someone you love in his or her house, you will be glad to go to church and be in God's presence. You will not need to be coerced to attend church services, because to you it's an opportunity to visit His house and have fellowship with the Lord. It will not be a routine for you but a delight. This Child Jesus?

Another season of celebrations has come, it is Christmas celebration time! It is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but then, who is this child Jesus Christ? Many people just love Christmas time but they don't really know the child that was born that precious day and why it is so important to keep remembering the day He was born, about 2000 years ago. This post aims at telling who this Jesus is.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace - Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins - Matthew 1:21 (NKJV)

But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals - Revelations 5:5 (NKJV)

I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star - Revelations 22:16 (NKJV)

Christmas celebration is more than feasting and visiting loved ones, however, the reason for the season is often ignored. There is power in acknowledging the baby Jesus. When you do, you encounter Him and the power He carries.

A child is born in the house of King David, what is special about this particular baby? He came with a specified mission from God and when He completed it He was no more, because the completion required his death on the cross. Read more...

The Power and Blessings of Sacrifice

Are you a beneficiary of sacrifice? Sacrifice is not easy to engage in, yet it is the key that unlocks many gates to people's deliverances and blessings. It is one of the secrets of supernatural breakthroughs. This post gives a summary of the power and blessings of sacrifice, most of which is from a teaching by Bishop David Abioye on the "Force of Sacrifice." I believe it will minister to you as it ministered to me.

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him - Psalms 126:5-6 (NKJV).

Sacrifice is done in tears and in pain but the person engaging in it reaps in joy and bountifully. The returns are normally fearful because they are beyond what can be explained by the human mind. It is God's ordained gateway to a new dawn, glorious beginnings and series of breakthroughs.

What is sacrifice?
It is giving out things that are precious and valuable to you; it talks about the cost and not the volume, the quality and not the quantity of what you are giving. Furthermore, sacrifice is parting away with your goods with weeping. The process is painful but gainful at the end.

Benefits of the altar of sacrifice
  1. It reverses curses (Genesis 8:20-21)
  2. It is the altar of enactment of covenant (Psalm 50:5)
  3. It is the altar of termination of plaques (2 Samuel 24:22-25)
  4. It is the altar of supernatural turnaround (1 Kings 17:8-16)
When to sacrifice
  1. Whenever things look tight (1 Kings 17:8-16)
  2. When God instructs you to do so (Genesis 22:1-3)
  3. When you are delightsomely prompted to do so (1 Kings 3:3-5) Read more...

Why Be Destroyed When You Can Make A U-Turn?

How often do you take wise steps? Every step you take always mars or destroys you; it never leaves you the same. But the good thing is that there is always an opportunity to retrace your steps if you are on the wrong path. This post encourages you to promptly make a u-turn any time there is a demand for it.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death – Proverbs 16:25 (NKJV).

He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed – Proverbs 13:20 (NKJV).

Many people would rather choose to be destroyed than admit they were wrong. This is only pride aiming at their destruction and they are allowing it. Surely, whatever they are trying to run away from will only last for a short period compared to the gravity of the consequences of their wrong decision or step. However, there are some people who would rather damn the consequences of admitting that they are wrong than to continue on the wrong path. This is wisdom coupled with courage and the fear of God.

A wise man said no matter how far you have gone on the wrong path, any time you realize it, just make a u-turn. There is a way that seems right to man, but the end thereof is death (Proverbs 16:25). Make a u- turn any time you realize you are on the wrong track and save yourself from untold havoc. Delaying to turn will cost you, while not turning at all will lead to destruction. Don’t think about what people will say, they are the ones who will also blame you when you are destroyed; rather consider what God will say. Read more...
