Pls Put A Smile On His Face

Is it difficult to put a smile on a face? A smiling face is good for the health, relationships and success. However, sometimes it takes you for another person to have a smile on his face.

Everyone needs support at one time or another to have peace, joy and success in life. This post talks about the grace to put smiles on faces.

So God has appointed some in the church [for His own use]: first apostles (special messengers); second prophets (inspired preachers and expounders); third teachers; then wonder-workers; then those with ability to heal the sick; helpers; administrators; [speakers in] different (unknown) tongues – 1 Corinthians 12:28 (AMP, emphasis mine)

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need – Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV, emphasis mine)

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you – John 14:26 (NKJV)

Let me start by asking this question, “Have you put a smile on someone’s face today?”

Many times, all that people need for their day to be great is for someone to put a smile on their face. Sometimes, you need to go out of your way to make another person smile. A smile takes a lot of weight off people’s shoulders. It can go beyond the face to the heart, to do a thorough cleaning leaving the recipient more relaxed and hopeful than before.

If you don’t know what assignment God has for you on earth, you can start off with the ministry of helps. Actually, no matter your calling from God, everyone needs to practice the ministry of helps as a lifestyle. Go beyond the church setting and reach out to people on daily basis. Read more...

Idolatry, Man Of God, Beware!

What is an idol to you? Can you clearly demarcate your passion and love for things or people and the worship of them? Sometimes, things that you adore, love to have or do, if care is not taken, can become gods to you. And gods crave to be worshiped and that, Man of God is idolatry! This post aims at exposing any idol in your life.

For you shall worship no other god; for the Lord, Whose name is Jealous, is a jealous (impassioned) God, (Exodus 34:14 AMP)

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in). (Matthew 6:24 AMP)

God is a jealous God and cannot share His worship or glory with another. And you cannot serve God and mammon at the same time; for either you hate mammon and love God or you hate God and love mammon.

An idol is any material that is an object of worship, or any person or thing that is excessively and blindly adored. Also, it can be an idea or activity that consumes your whole being, time, energy and resources. In a summary, an idol is anything that takes the place of God in your life.

Therefore, idolatry is beyond the worship of images. It can be your work, spouse, children, that perfect idea and/or your material possessions. It is whatever that determines your level of joy and peace per time, other than God.

Now, the question is, "do you have any mammon or idol in your life?"

Idolatry sometime, is very subtle: difficult to detect or be grasped by the mind. It may initially start off as an innocent passion and subtly progress into worship. Interestingly, outwardly, it may be considered as an okay thing or a perfect service unto God but to God it is idolatry. Man of God beware! Read more...

Brotherly Affection Vs Christian Love

Do you exercise brotherly love or Christian love? The difference between them is a function of your walk with God. Everyone has a level of love for humanity. The love of God has been shared abroad in your hearts and what you do with it determines your level of love for your neighbour.

And in [exercising] godliness [develop] brotherly affection, and in [exercising] brotherly affection [develop] Christian love - 2 Peter 1:7 (AMP)

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers - 1 John 3:16 (KJV)

For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? - Matthew 5:46 (NKJV)

Is there really any difference between brotherly affection and Christian love? Christians strive to love their neighbors as God commanded. Many people really can testify of their love for others by their good actions towards them, but the question is, "is it out of brotherly affection or Christian love?"

The knowledge of the difference between these two virtues will help you to answer the question and identify your own level of love.

Now, let's consider briefly the differences:
  • Superiority
The scripture in 2 Peter 1:7 makes it clear that Christian love is different from and superior to brotherly affection. It is a level above the latter in hierarchy. Christian love stems from increase in maturity as it is an addition to brotherly affection.
  • Practiced by good people
Brotherly affection is practiced by good people, who do not think only of themselves. Sometimes, it may be for their own satisfaction and/or to prove to the world that they practice love. And it is only as it is convenient for them, if not count them out of it. Read more...

Why Is It Hard To Market The One You Love?

Do you really love Him? Many times we profess how we cannot live without our lover but to tell people about this lover, we shy away from it. We can say so many things about other people and things but not our beloved. This post aims at encouraging you to market the one you love.

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God – Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV).

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen – Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV)

Sometime ago, I wanted to market a product to a lady and she said something profound, “If all Christian marketers will market Christ the way they market this product and other network marketing products, this world would be a changed place.” It got me thinking, how we can boldly and shamelessly market many things but the one we love. Why is it hard?

Yes, you market these other things and people for money, because you need to eat, clothe your body, take care of your family and pay your bills. However, marketing Christ does not really physically put money in your pocket.

Nevertheless, if you truly love God you will obey His commandments – John 14:15. And one of His commandments is that you should go and make disciples of all nations, and teach them to observe all that He commanded – Matthew 28:19-20.

But, we are ashamed to obey the instruction and market the one we love! Why is it hard? You may say, it is a difficult market and you don’t know how to go about it. Good reason, but is it good enough to disobey your Lord? Read more...
