Can you image a child learning how to walk today and
tomorrow he is driving? I know you can’t imagine it. But that is what many
people expect God to do for them. They want to take giant steps beyond God’s
way. One step at a time is God’s style and it always gets you to the peak if
you stick to the Lord. This article gives the reasons why this way of the
Almighty is the best approach to life.
A bishop then must be blameless…not a novice, lest being puffed up
with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil – 1 Timothy 3:2, 6 (emphasis
mine, NKJV)
But the word of the Lord was to them, “Precept upon precept,
precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a
little,” Isaiah 28:13
I will not drive them out from before you in one
year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too
numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until
you have increased, and you inherit the land – Exodus 23:29-30 (NKJV)
Multiple promotions are desirable but not at the detriment
of one’s future or destiny. A father, no matter how much he loves his six year
old boy, will not allow him to drive his car. Also, no pupil starts primary one
or standard one today and next session he is in the secondary school. It is
always one step at a time. This is God’s way and God, our creator, is the
originator of this way.
Every newborn baby always starts with milk and gradually
graduates to solids (1 Peter 2:2). This principle applies both to spiritual and
physical growth. Also, in leadership positions, whether spiritual or physical,
nobody puts a novice in leadership position. Everyone needs to grow into any
